The foremost of the divine seers, the dwellers of heaven, Yakṣas, Rākṣasas, Gandharvas, birds, and all sky-roaming beings assembled there.
Then the Grandsire and all the guardians of the worlds, and the blessed great god Mahādeva with his attendants, arrived there.
Then, O king, the wind, adorned with celestial garlands, encircled Arjuna on all sides with wondrous displays.
The Gandharvas, prompted by the gods, sang various songs, and groups of Apsaras danced together, O king.
At that very moment, Narada, urged by the gods, approached and spoke these words to Partha, which are worthy of being heard, O king.
Arjuna, Arjuna, do not employ the divine weapons, O Bharata; these must never be used without proper authority.
One who is not afflicted should never use them without authority; for the use of these weapons without cause brings great harm, O joy of the Kurus.
If these are preserved according to the tradition, O Dhananjaya, they will remain powerful and bring happiness—of this there is no doubt.
If these are not guarded, O Pandava, they bring destruction even to the three worlds; never act thus again, at any time.
O Ajatashatru, you will see these weapons in battle, being used for the destruction of your enemies, O Partha.
Then, having thus instructed Partha, all the gods departed as they had come, along with the others who had arrived there, O bull among men.
When all those Kauravas had departed, the Pandavas, delighted, remained in that very forest together with Krishna.
After the slayer of Vritra had returned home, what did the sons of Pritha do, having gathered with the heroic Dhananjaya, the foremost of chariot-warriors?
In those very forests, the heroic kings, equal to Indra, rejoiced together with Arjuna on that delightful, excellent mountain, sporting in the domain of the lord of wealth.
Beholding those incomparable dwellings and the various playgrounds set amidst many trees, the bowman, ever devoted to his weapons, wandered in many ways, O king, always diligent.
Having obtained a residence, born of the grace of King Vaisravana, the sons of the lord of men did not covet anything of living beings; that was a blessed time for them, O king.
Having reunited with Partha, they dwelt there together for four nights, just as before; and the previous six and these ten nights of the Pandavas in the forest were auspicious.
Then the swift son of the wind, and Jishnu, sitting with the king, and the two heroic sons of Yama, equal to the lord of the gods, withdrew to a secluded place and spoke words that were both beneficial and dear.
Desiring to fulfill your true vow, O king of the Kurus, and to accomplish what pleases you, we do not leave the forests, abandoning them, to slay Suyodhana and his followers.
We have now spent eleven years, deprived of comforts by Suyodhana though worthy of happiness; let us, deceiving that wicked-minded one, happily complete our year of incognito.
By your command, O king, without fear, we abandon pride and wander through the forests. Those who are enticed by our proximity will come to know that we are not in distant lands.
Having spent a year there in concealment, we shall happily seize that wretched man. Emerging, we will make our enmity fruitful and victorious against that ignoble king.
Surrounded by the followers of Suyodhana, then, O king of righteousness, reclaim the earth. For those who roam this land, which is like heaven, sorrow can indeed be dispelled, O king.
Your fame, O Bharata, fragrant with virtue, would vanish among all beings, moving and unmoving. Having attained the kingdom of the foremost Kurus, great achievements and rites can then be accomplished.
This, O king, can always be attained by you, as you have received from Kubera. Form your resolve for the destruction of your enemies and the restraint of those who have committed offenses, O Bharata.
Your fierce energy, O king, cannot be withstood, even by Vajrapani himself if he were to confront you. They will never cause you distress, even if the gods themselves assemble, O king of righteousness.
For the accomplishment of your purpose, Suparnaketu and the grandson of Shini are also engaged. Just as Krishna is unmatched in strength, so too is that heroic descendant of Shini, O king.
For the fulfillment of your purpose, just as Krishna has come with the Yadavas, so too have these two, O best of kings—the heroic and skilled twins—joined in action.
Empowered and foremost for your cause, we shall bring peace after confronting the adversaries.
Then, having understood that counsel, the great-souled son of Dharma, the foremost among them, approached the place in a respectful manner and circled the abode of King Vaisravana.
