सुधापाण्डरशृङ्गैश्च शातकुम्भपरिच्छदैः। रत्नसानुमहाशृङ्गैः सर्वरत्नसमन्वितैः?
With whitewashed towers like nectar, adorned with golden decorations, and great jeweled peaks filled with all kinds of gems.
सहर्म्यैः सार्धचन्द्रैश्च सनिर्यूहैः सपञ्ज्अरैः। सयन्त्रगृहसंबाधैः सधातुभिरिवाद्रिभिः
With mansions having crescent-shaped roofs, balconies, and cages, crowded with mechanical houses, like mountains with veins of ore.
मणिकाञ्चनभ्ॐऐश्च सुधामृष्टतलैस्तथा। जाम्बूनदमयद्वारैर्वैडूर्यविकृतार्गलैः
With floors washed with nectar, adorned with jeweled and golden thresholds, and doors made of Jambunada gold with bolts of lapis lazuli.
सर्वर्तुसुखसंस्यर्शैर्महाधनपरिच्छदैः। रम्यसानुगृहैः शृङ्गैर्विचित्रैरिव पर्वतैः
With houses comfortable in all seasons, furnished with great wealth, and beautiful mansions with peaks as varied as mountains.
पञ्चवर्णसवर्णैश्च पुष्पवृष्टिसमप्रभैः। तुल्यैः पर्जन्यनिर्घोषैर्ह्रादैर्भोगवती यथा
With flowers of five colors, matching in hue and brilliance to showers of blossoms, and with sounds like the thunder of clouds, Bhogavati shone forth.
कृष्णध्वजोपवाह्यैश्च दाशार्हायुधरोहितैः। वृष्णिवीरमयूरैश्च स्त्रीसहस्रप्रजाकुलैः
With chariots adorned with black banners, bearing the weapons of the Dasharhas, and with peacocks made of Vṛṣṇi heroes, teeming with thousands of women and offspring.
वासुदेवैन्द्रपर्जन्यैर्गृहमेघैरलङ्कृता। ददृशे द्वारकाऽतीव मेघैर्द्यैरिव संवृता
Adorned with house-clouds named after Vāsudeva, Indra, and Parjanya, Dvārakā appeared exceedingly covered, as if veiled by clouds in the sky.
साक्षाद्भगवतो वेश्म विहितं विश्वकर्मणा। ददृशुर्वासुदेवस्य चतुर्योजनमायतम्
They beheld the mansion of Bhagavan, constructed by Viśvakarma himself, the residence of Vāsudeva, stretching four yojanas in length.
तावदेव सुविस्तीर्णं सुसम्पूर्णं महाधनैः। प्रासादवरसम्पन्नं युक्तं जगति पर्वतैः
So vast and expansive, filled with great wealth, furnished with splendid palaces, and set amidst mountains upon the earth.
यं चकार महाभागस्त्वष्टा वासवचोदितः। प्रासादं हेमनाभस्य सर्वतो योजनायतम्
That palace, created by the illustrious Tvaṣṭā at the command of Vāsava, with a golden hub, extended a yojana in every direction.
मेरोरिव गिरेः शृङ्गमुच्छ्रितं काञ्चनालयम्। रुक्मिण्याः प्रवरो वासो निर्मितः सुमहात्मना
Like the peak of Mount Meru, a lofty golden abode was built as the foremost residence for Rukmiṇī by the great-souled one.
सत्यभामा पुनर्वेश्म सदा वसति पाण्डरम्। विचित्रमणिसोपानं यं विदुः शीतवानिति
Satyabhāmā’s mansion, ever white, where she always dwells, with a staircase of wondrous gems, is known as Śītavān.
विमलादित्यवर्णाभिः पताकाभिरलङ्कृतम्। व्यक्तबद्धं यथोद्देशे चतुर्दशमहाध्वजम्
Adorned with banners shining like the pure sun, fourteen great flags were distinctly arranged according to their places.
सर्वप्रासादमुख्योऽत्र जाम्बवत्या विभूषितः। प्रभाया जृम्भणैश्चित्रैस्त्रैलोक्यमिव भासयन्
Here, the chief palace was embellished by Jāmbavatī, radiating with brilliant displays, illuminating the three worlds.
यस्तु पाण्डरवर्णाभस्तयोरन्तरमाश्रितः। विश्वकर्माकरोदेनं कैलासशिखरोपमम्
Between those, the one of pale color was occupied; Viśvakarma made it, resembling the summit of Kailāsa.
जाम्बूनदप्रदीप्ताग्रः प्रदीप्तज्वलनोपमः। सागरप्रतिमोऽतिष्ठन्मेरुरित्यभिविश्रुतः
Its peak blazed with Jāmbūnada gold, shining like a flaming fire, standing like the ocean, renowned as Meru.
तस्मिन्गान्धारराजस्य दुहिता कुलशालिनी। सुकेशी नाम विख्याता केशवेन निवेशिता
In that place, the noble daughter of the king of Gandhāra, famed as Sukeśī, was settled by Keśava.
पद्मकूट इति ख्यातः पद्मवर्णो महाप्रभः। सुप्रभाया महाबाहो वासः स परमोच्छ्रितः
Called Padmakūṭa, lotus-hued and radiant, the lofty residence of Suprabhā, mighty-armed, was established.
यस्तु सूर्यप्रभो नाम प्रासादवर उच्यते। लक्षणायाः कुरुश्रेष्ठ स दत्तः शार्ङ्गधन्वना
The splendid palace known as Sūryaprabha was given by Śārṅgadhanvan to Lakṣaṇā, O best of Kurus.
वैडूर्यवरवर्णाभः प्रासादो हरितप्रभः। श्वेतजाला हि यत्रैव यत्रैव च निवेशिता
The palace shining with the color of excellent beryl, radiant green, where Śvetajālā was also settled.
यं विदुः सर्वभूतानि हरिरित्येव भारत। सुमित्रविजयावासो देवर्षिगणपूजितः
All beings know him as Hari; the residence of Sumitrā and Vijaya was honored by hosts of divine sages.
महिष्या वासुदेवस्य भूषणं सर्ववेश्मनाम्। यस्तु प्रासादमुख्योऽत्र विहितः सर्वशिल्पिभिः
The ornament of all the mansions of Vāsudeva’s queens, the chief palace here was constructed by all the artisans.
महिष्या वासुदेवस्य केतुमानिति विश्रुतः। प्रसादो विरजो नाम विरजस्को महात्मनः
The renowned Ketuman, son of Vasudeva's queen, is called Prasada Viraja, free from passion, of great soul.
उपस्थानगृहं तात केशवस्य महात्मनः। यस्तु प्रासादमुख्योऽत्र यं त्वष्टा व्यदधात्स्वयम्
O dear one, the audience hall of the great-souled Kesava, the foremost palace here, was fashioned by Tvashta himself.
योजनायतविष्कम्भं सर्वरत्नमयं विभोः। तेषां तु विहिताः सर्वे रुक्मदण्डाः पताकिनः
Its length and breadth are measured in yojanas, made entirely of precious gems; all its banners are adorned with golden staffs.
सदने वासुदेवस्य मार्गसञ्जनना ध्वजाः। घण्टाजालानि तत्रैव सर्वेषां निवेशने
In Vasudeva's mansion, banners line the pathways, and in every residence there are networks of bells.
आहृत्य यदुसिंहेन वैजयन्तच्छलो महात्। हंसकूटस्य यच्छ्रङ्गमिन्द्रद्युम्नसरो महत्
The mighty Yadava lion brought there the Vaijayanta canopy, the great peak of Hamsakuta, and the vast Indradyumna lake.
षष्टितालसमुत्सेधमर्धयोजनविस्तृतम्। सकिन्नरमहानादं तदप्यमिततेजसः
Rising sixty talas high and half a yojana wide, it resounds with the music of kinnara, befitting one of immeasurable splendor.
पश्यतां सर्वभूतानां त्रिषु लोकेषु विश्रुतम्। आदित्यपथगं यत्तन्मेरोः शिखरमुत्तमम्
Famed throughout the three worlds, visible to all beings, is the supreme summit of Meru, traversed by the sun's path.
जाम्बूनदमयं दिव्यं त्रिषु लोकेषु विश्रुतम्। तदप्युत्पाट्य कुच्छ्रेण स्वं निवेशनमाहृतम्
That divine peak, made of Jambunada gold and renowned in the three worlds, was also brought with great effort to his own abode.
