एयमगन्न् ओषधीनां वीरुधां वीर्यावती । अजशृङ्ग्यराटकी तीक्ष्णशृङ्गी व्यृषतु
This, the most potent among herbs and plants, is come—goat-horned, kingly, sharp-horned, let it drive away evil.
आनृत्यतः शिखण्डिनो गन्धर्वस्याप्सरापतेः । भिनद्मि मुष्कावपि यामि शेपः
From the dancers with crests, from the lord of the Gandharvas and Apsarases, I break the testicles and take away their virility.
भीमा इन्द्रस्य हेतयः शतमृष्टीरयस्मयीः । ताभिर्हविरदान् गन्धर्वान् अवकादान् व्यृषतु
Fierce are Indra's weapons, a hundred-pointed, made of iron; with these may he drive away the Gandharvas who seize the offerings, and those who lurk below.
भीमा इन्द्रस्य हेतयः शतमृष्टीर्हिरण्ययीः । ताभिर्हविरदान् गन्धर्वान् अवकादान् व्यृषतु
Fierce are Indra's weapons, a hundred-pointed, made of gold; with these may he drive away the Gandharvas who seize the offerings, and those who lurk below.
अवकादान् अभिशोचान् अप्सु ज्योतय मामकान् । पिशाचान्त्सर्वान् ओषधे प्र मृणीहि सहस्व च
Drive away those who lurk below, those who bring sorrow, and the spirits in the waters; O plant, destroy all the demons, and prevail.
श्वेवैकः कपिरिवैकः कुमारः सर्वकेशकः । प्रियो दृश इव भूत्वा गन्धर्वः सचते स्त्रियस्। तमितो नाशयामसि ब्रह्मणा वीर्यावता
Like a dog, like a monkey, like a boy with hair all over, appearing as a beloved one to the sight, the Gandharva attaches himself to women; him we destroy here with the power of sacred knowledge.
जाया इद्वो अप्सरसो गन्धर्वाः पतयो यूयम् । अप धावतामर्त्या मर्त्यान् मा सचध्वम्
Your wives are the Apsarases, you Gandharvas are their husbands; depart, O immortals, from mortals—do not associate with them.
उद्भिन्दतीं संजयन्तीमप्सरां साधुदेविनीम् । ग्लहे कृतानि कृण्वानामप्सरां तामिह हुवे
I invoke here that Apsaras, skilled and divine, who bursts forth and brings together, who makes the dice fall in the game.
विचिन्वतीमाकिरन्तीमप्सरां साधुदेविनीम् । ग्लहे कृतानि गृह्णानामप्सरां तामिह हुवे
I invoke here that Apsaras, skilled and divine, who searches and scatters, who gathers up the dice in the game.
यायैः परिनृत्यत्याददाना कृतं ग्लहात्। सा नः कृतानि सीषती प्रहामाप्नोतु मायया । सा नः पयस्वत्यैतु मा नो जैषुरिदं धनम्
She who dances around, taking the dice from the game, may she, who gathers our dice, win a great prize for us by her skill; may she, full of abundance, come to us—may they not win this wealth from us.
या अक्षेषु प्रमोदन्ते शुचं क्रोधं च बिभ्रती । आनन्दिनीं प्रमोदिनीमप्सरां तामिह हुवे
I invoke here that joyful and delighted Apsaras, who delights in the dice, bearing brightness and anger.
सूर्यस्य रश्मीन् अनु याः सञ्चरन्ति मरीचीर्वा या अनुसञ्चरन्ति । यासामृषभो दूरतो वाजिनीवान्त्सद्यः सर्वान् लोकान् पर्येति रक्षन् । स न ऐतु होममिमं जुषाणोऽन्तरिक्षेण सह वाजिनीवान्
Those who move along the rays of the sun, or who move along the beams, whom the bull, swift as a steed, swiftly circles all the worlds, protecting; may he come here, accepting this offering, together with the steed in the midspace.
अन्तरिक्षेण सह वाजिनीवन् कर्कीं वत्सामिह रक्ष वाजिन् । इमे ते स्तोका बहुला एह्यर्वाङियं ते कर्कीह ते मनोऽस्तु
Together with the steed in the midspace, O steed, protect here the calf, O steed; these, your few and many, come near—here is your calf, here let your mind be.
अन्तरिक्षेण सह वाजिनीवन् कर्कीं वत्सामिह रक्ष वाजिन् । अयं घासो अयं व्रज इह वत्सां नि बध्नीमः । यथानाम व ईश्महे स्वाहा
Together with the steed in the midspace, O steed, protect here the calf, O steed; here is the grass, here is the pen, here we tie the calf; as is fitting for you, so may we prosper. Svāhā.
पृथिव्यामग्नये समनमन्त्स आर्ध्नोत्। यथा पृथिव्यामग्नये समनमन्न् एवा मह्यं संनमः सं नमन्तु
On earth, for Agni, let the food be equal and abundant; as on earth for Agni the food is equal, so may there be equal abundance for me—may they all show me respect.

To the quarters I have made an offering to the Moon; may it be fulfilled. Just as I have made an offering to the Moon in the directions, so may all bow down to me, may they indeed bow down.
दिशो धेनवस्तासां चन्द्रो वत्सः । ता मे चन्द्रेण वत्सेनेषमूर्जं कामं दुहामायुः प्रथमं प्रजां पोषं रयिं स्वाहा
The directions are cows, and their calf is the Moon. With that Moon as the calf, may I draw forth desired strength, nourishment, long life, foremost offspring, and wealth—svāhā.
अग्नावग्निश्चरति प्रविष्ट ऋषीणां पुत्रो अभिशस्तिपा उ । नमस्कारेण नमसा ते जुहोमि मा देवानां मिथुया कर्म भागम्
Within Agni, Agni moves, having entered; the son of the seers, the protector from curses. With reverence and homage I offer to you; may I not share in the divided portion of the gods’ work.
हृदा पूतं मनसा जातवेदो विश्वानि देव वयुनानि विद्वान् । सप्तास्यानि तव जातवेदस्तेभ्यो जुहोमि स जुषस्व हव्यम्
O Jātavedas, purified by heart and mind, knowing all the divine works, your seven mouths, O Jātavedas—to them I make offering; may you accept this oblation.
ये पुरस्ताज्जुह्वति जातवेदः प्राच्या दिशोऽभिदासन्त्यस्मान् । अग्निमृत्वा ते पराञ्चो व्यथन्तां प्रत्यगेनान् प्रतिसरेण हन्मि

ये दक्षिणतो जुह्वति जातवेदो दक्षिणाया दिशोऽभिदासन्त्यस्मान् । यममृत्वा ते पराञ्चो व्यथन्तां प्रत्यगेना प्रतिसरेण हन्मि

ये पश्चाज्जुह्वति जातवेदः प्रतीच्या दिशोऽभिदासन्त्यस्मान् । वरुणमृत्वा ते पराञ्चो व्यथन्तां प्रत्यगेनान् प्रतिसरेण हन्मि
Those who offer to Jātavedas behind, from the western direction, who assail us—may they be turned away by Varuṇa as the priest; I strike them back with a counter-charm.
य उत्तरतो जुह्वति जातवेद उदीच्या दिशोऽभिदासन्त्यस्मान् । सोममृत्वा ते पराञ्चो व्यथन्तां प्रत्यगेनान् प्रतिसरेण हन्मि
Those who offer to Jātavedas on the left, from the northern direction, who assail us—may they be turned away by Soma as the priest; I strike them back with a counter-charm.
येऽधस्ताज्जुह्वति जातवेद उदीच्या दिशोऽभिदासन्त्यस्मान् । भूमिमृत्वा ते पराञ्चो व्यथन्तां प्रत्यगेनान् प्रतिसरेण हन्मि
