यदि क्षितायुर्यदि वा परेतो यदि मृत्योरन्तिकं नीत एव । तमा हरामि निर्ऋतेरुपस्थादस्पार्शमेनं शतशारदाय
Whether his life is diminished or he is departed, or has been brought near to death, I draw him away from the lap of destruction, untouched, for a hundred autumns.
सहस्राक्षेण शतवीर्येण शतायुषा हविषाहार्षमेनम् । इन्द्रो यथैनं शरदो नयात्यति विश्वस्य दुरितस्य पारम्
With a thousand eyes, with a hundredfold strength, with a hundred years of life, I have taken him with offering; as Indra leads him through the autumns, may he cross beyond all misfortune.
शतं जीव शरदो वर्धमानः शतं हेमन्तान् छतमु वसन्तान् । शतं त इन्द्रो अग्निः सविता बृहस्पतिः शतायुषा हविषाहार्षमेनम्
Live a hundred autumns, growing; a hundred winters, a hundred springs; may Indra, Agni, Savitṛ, Bṛhaspati grant you a hundred years of life, I have taken him with offering.
आहार्षमविदं त्वा पुनरागाः पुनर्णवः । सर्वाङ्ग सर्वं ते चक्षुः सर्वमायुश्च तेऽविदम्
I have taken you, I have found you; you have returned, renewed; all your limbs, all your sight, all your life I have found for you.
ब्रह्मणाग्निः संविदानो रक्षोहा बाधतामितः । अमीवा यस्ते गर्भं दुर्णामा योनिमाशये
May Agni, united with Brahman, the destroyer of demons, drive away from here the disease that has seized your embryo, that evil affliction lodged in the womb.
यस्ते गर्भममीवा दुर्णामा योनिमाशये । अग्निष्टं ब्रह्मणा सह निष्क्रव्यादमनीनशत्
That disease which has seized your embryo, that evil affliction lodged in the womb—may Agni, together with Brahman, expel it, driving out the devourer of flesh.
यस्ते हन्ति पतयन्तं निषत्स्नुं यः सरीसृपम् । जातं यस्ते जिघांसति तमितो नाशयामसि
Whatever attacks you, whether flying, sitting, or crawling, whatever is born and seeks to harm you, that, from here, we destroy.
यस्त ऊरू विहरत्यन्तरा दम्पती शये । योनिं यो अन्तरारेल्हि तमितो नाशयामसि
Whatever moves between your thighs while the couple lies together, whatever enters the womb—this, from here, we destroy.
यस्त्वा भ्राता पतिर्भूत्वा जारो भूत्वा निपद्यते । प्रजां यस्ते जिघांसति तमितो नाशयामसि
Whoever, being your brother, becomes your husband, or as a lover lies with you, whatever seeks to harm your offspring, that, from here, we destroy.
यस्त्वा स्वप्नेन तमसा मोहयित्वा निपद्यते । प्रजां यस्ते जिघांसति तमितो नाशयामसि
Whoever, having deluded you with sleep and darkness, lies with you, whatever seeks to harm your offspring, that, from here, we destroy.
अक्षीभ्यां ते नासिकाभ्यां कर्णाभ्यां छुबुकादधि । यक्ष्मं शीर्षण्यं मस्तिष्काज्जिह्वाया वि वृहामि ते
From your eyes, nostrils, ears, and chin, from your head and brain, from your tongue, I remove the disease.
ग्रीवाभ्यस्त उष्णिहाभ्यः कीकसाभ्यो अनूक्यात्। यक्ष्मं दोषण्यमंसाभ्यां बाहुभ्यां वि वृहामि ते
From your neck, from the crown of your head, from your cough and throat, from your shoulders, flesh, and arms, I remove the disease.
हृदयात्ते परि क्लोम्नो हलीक्ष्णात्पार्श्वाभ्याम् । यक्ष्मं मतस्नाभ्यां प्लीह्नो यक्नस्ते वि वृहामसि
From your heart, from the covering of your lungs, from your sides, from your sinews, from your spleen and liver, I remove the disease.
आन्त्रेभ्यस्ते गुदाभ्यो वनिष्ठोरुदरादधि । यक्ष्मं कुक्षिभ्यां प्लाशेर्नाभ्या वि वृहामि ते
From your intestines, from your rectum, from your inner parts and belly, from your flanks and navel, I remove the disease.
ऊरुभ्यां ते अष्ठीवद्भ्यां पार्ष्णिभ्यां प्रपदाभ्याम् । यक्ष्मं भसद्यं श्रोणिभ्यां भासदं भांससो वि वृहामि ते
From your thighs, bones, heels, and feet, from your hips and buttocks, I remove the consuming disease.
अमेहनाद्वनंकरणाल्लोमभ्यस्ते नखेभ्यः । यक्ष्मं सर्वस्मादात्मनस्तमिदं वि वृहामि ते
From your urine, from your generative organs, from your hair and nails, from your entire self, I remove the disease.
अङ्गेअङ्गे लोम्निलोम्नि यस्ते पर्वणिपर्वणि । यक्ष्मं त्वचस्यं ते वयं कश्यपस्य वीबर्हेण विष्वञ्चं वि वृहामसि
In every limb, at every hair, at every joint, whatever disease is in your skin, with the healing of Kashyapa, I remove it entirely.
अपेहि मनसस्पतेऽप काम परश्चर । परो निर्ऋत्या आ चक्ष्व बहुधा जीवतो मनः
Depart, O lord of the mind; go away, desire, move elsewhere. Look far from misfortune; let the mind of the living one be manifold.
वयमेनमिदा ह्योपीपेमेह वज्रिणम् । तस्मा उ अद्य समना सुतं भरा नूनं भूषत श्रुते
We have indeed approached this mighty one, the wielder of the thunderbolt. Therefore, today, with united minds, offer the pressed Soma; now adorn the renowned one.
वृकश्चिदस्य वारण उरामथिरा वयुनेषु भूषति । सेमं नः स्तोमं जुजुषाण आ गहीन्द्र प्र चित्रया धिया
Even the wolf, restrained, is adorned in his paths. May he, accepting our praise, come to us—Indra, with his brilliant insight.
कदु न्वस्याकृतमिन्द्रस्यास्ति पौंस्यम् । केनो नु कं श्रोमतेन न शुश्रुवे जनुषः परि वृत्रहा
What has not been done by him? What is Indra's manliness? By what, with what fame, has the slayer of Vritra not been heard of in all generations?
त्वामिद्धि हवामहे साता वाजस्य कारवः । त्वां वृत्रेष्विन्द्र सत्पतिं नरस्त्वां काष्ठास्वर्वतः
It is you whom we invoke, O Indra, bringer of wealth, O lord of men; in battles, you are the true lord, and men call upon you from every quarter.
स त्वं नश्चित्र वज्रहस्त धृष्णुया मह स्तवानो अद्रिवः । गामश्वं रथ्यमिन्द्र सं किर सत्रा वाजं न जिग्युषे
O you, wondrous one, holding the thunderbolt in your hand, mighty and praised, destroyer of foes, scatter for us, Indra, cattle, horses, and chariots; grant us the prize that cannot be defeated.
अभि त्वा पूर्वपीतय इन्द्र स्तोमेभिरायवः । समीचीनास ऋभवः समस्वरन् रुद्रा गृणन्त पूर्व्यम्
To you, Indra, the ancient drinkers offer praises; the skillful ones, harmonious, sing together; the Rudras extol the primordial one.
अस्येदिन्द्रो वावृधे वृष्ण्यं शवो मदे सुतस्य विष्णवि । अद्या तमस्य महिमानमायवोऽनु ष्टुवन्ति पूर्वथा
Indra has grown in strength and heroic power through the exhilarating, pressed Soma; today, the mighty ones praise his greatness as in former times.
अधा हीन्द्र गिर्वण उप त्वा कामान् महः ससृज्महे । उदेव यन्त उदभिः
Therefore, Indra, singer of praises, we approach you with our desires for greatness; let them rise up, let them ascend with offerings.
वार्ण त्वा यव्याभिर्वर्धन्ति शूर ब्रह्माणि । वावृध्वांसं चिदद्रिवो दिवेदिवे
O hero, the prayers exalt you with their praises; even when you are already increased, O destroyer of foes, day by day.
युञ्जन्ति हरी इषिरस्य गाथयोरौ रथ उरुयुगे । इन्द्रवाहा वचोयुजा
They harness the two steeds for the inspired song, the broad-yoked chariot; Indra-drawn, yoked by words.
अग्निं दूतं वृणीमहे होतारं विश्ववेदसम् । अस्य यज्ञस्य सुक्रतुम्
We choose Agni as our messenger, the priest who knows all things, the wise one for this sacrifice.
अग्निमग्निं हवीमभिः सदा हवन्त विश्पतिम् । हव्यवाहं पुरुप्रियम्
With offerings, we always invoke Agni, lord of the people, bearer of oblations, beloved by many.
