Sing that for yourselves at the pressing, together with the much-invoked one, for strength, as one would for a cow, for prosperity.
Indeed, the generous one does not withhold the gift of wealth rich in cattle, when the hymns reach him.
Perhaps he will go forth to the cattle-rich enclosure of the foe-slayer; may he, with his powers, ward off our enemies.
Indra, bring us wisdom as a father gives to his sons. Teach us, much-invoked one, on this path, that we may attain living light.
Let not unknown or hostile men, nor evil dwellers, overtake us. With you, O hero, we shall always cross the deep waters safely.
Indra, bring us the greatest and most powerful fame, O strong one with the thunderbolt in hand, by which you, O beautiful-jawed, have filled both these shining worlds.
We call upon you, O mighty one, support of people, king, among the gods; O treasure, may all hostile powers drink destruction for us; make our enemies easily subdued.
Even if, O Indra, you had a hundred heavens, a hundred earths, or even more, not a thousand thunders, nor the suns, nor all that is born between the two worlds, could match you.
You have stretched forth, O powerful bull, with your great might, pervading all with your strength; come to our aid, O bountiful one, in the cattle-rich enclosure, O wielder of the thunderbolt, with your splendid aids.
O Indra, as much as you are, so much may I be master; may I cherish the praiser, O giver of wealth; may I not bestow upon the wicked.
May I learn, for the one who magnifies you, day by day, to grant wealth wherever he desires; for, O bountiful one, there is no other, not even a father, who is a giver of riches like you.
Indra, come, O radiant one; these pressed libations are for you; purified by slender streams.
Indra, come, impelled by prayer, accompanied by the wise, to the pressed libations, to the hymns of the singers.
Indra, come swiftly, O tawny one, to the hymns; place yourself at the pressed libation for our protection.
Speak not of anything else, O friends, nor fall into harm; praise Indra, the mighty one, together at the pressing, and repeatedly recite hymns.
Like a bull, unconquered, strong as a cow among men, a destroyer of foes, a uniter, a doer of both, the greatest, the master of both sides.
Whatever people here call upon you for help, let this our hymn, O Indra, be for you; may it be for our increase today and always.
The wise, O bountiful one, surpass in speech, the noble surpass the people; approach with manifold forms, bring the prize nearest for our aid.
With prayer, yoked with prayer, I yoke your two bays, O friend, to the common seat; firmly hold the chariot, O Indra, with ease, knowing and wise, come to the Soma.
O priests, offer the ruddy, milked, pure juice to the bull among men; Indra, desiring the pressed Soma, comes from the cow, from the sacrificial vessel, to drink all.
Whatever food you have placed in the highest heaven, bring that delight day by day; accepting with heart and mind, O bright one, O Indra, drink the pressed Somas set forth.
Born for strength, you drank Soma; your mother declared your greatness; Indra, you stretched out the wide midspace, and by battle made a path for the gods.
If, O Indra, we must fight with those who think themselves mighty, who stand firm with their arms, or with warriors assembled for battle, may we, with you as our ally, win that renowned contest.
I will declare the foremost deeds of Indra, and now also those new acts which the bountiful one has performed; when his adversaries could not withstand his power, then Soma became his alone.
All this world, on every side, is your pasture, whatever you behold with the eye of the sun; you alone, Indra, are the lord and guardian of cattle—may we enjoy the wealth you bestow in due offering.
O Bṛhaspati, you and Indra are the rulers of the heavenly and the earthly wealth; grant riches to the one who praises you, even for fame—may you both always protect us with blessings.
He who, with force, propped up the ends of the earth—Bṛhaspati, seated in the threefold abode, with his roar—him, the ancient seers, shining in wisdom, the priests of old, established with sweet speech.
Let the swift ones, rejoicing, surround Bṛhaspati, who is of clear vision, those who are our protectors; let Bṛhaspati guard the source of that broad, ever-flowing, milk-yielding stream.
