Let Mitra, Varuṇa, Indra, and Rudra be aware; may all the gods, who are universal givers, grant me radiance.
By which the elephant became radiant, by which the king among men and in the waters became so, by which the gods first attained divinity—by that, O Agni, make me radiant today, make me one endowed with radiance.
O Jātavedas, whatever radiance becomes great for you at the offering, as much as is the brilliance of the sun and of the mighty elephant, may the Aśvins, adorned with lotus garlands, grant me that same radiance.
As far as the four directions extend the sight, as far as vision reaches, so far may my vigor and strength be, with the radiance of the elephant's hand.
Among the animals, the elephant stands as the best of the strong; with a portion of his radiance, I sprinkle myself.
By which you became strong, with that we drive away harm; this, indeed, we set far away from you, elsewhere, far off.
May a male embryo enter your womb, like an arrow into a quiver; may a heroic son be born here, your ten-month child.
Give birth to a male child, and may a male be born after him; be the mother of sons, both those already born and those yet to be born.
Whatever auspicious seeds the bulls generate, with those may you obtain a son; be a fruitful mother-cow.
I make for you the procreative power; may an embryo enter your womb. Obtain a son, woman, who will bring you joy—be to him as you should.
Of whom heaven is the father, earth the mother, and the ocean the root of plants—may those divine herbs grant you the knowledge of a son.
Milky herbs, may my speech be full of milk; and among those full of milk, I bring forth abundance by the thousands.
I know the milky grain, abundant; having gathered its name, the god who made it, we invoke him, who is in the house of the non-sacrificer.
These five regions, these five peoples of men—let the rain, like a river, bring here abundance and plenty.
From the hundred-streamed, thousand-streamed, unfailing fountain, so may our grain be, thousand-streamed, unfailing.
Gather with a hundred hands, scatter with a thousand hands; for what is done and what is being done, bring here abundance and plenty.
Three measures are of the Gandharvas, four of the housewives; of those, the most abundant, with that we anoint you.
Upoha and Samūha are your gatherers, O Prajāpati; may they bring here abundance, much, unfailing plenty.
Let the goad goad you, do not remain lying on your bed; with that dreadful arrow of desire, I pierce you in the heart.
The arrow of desire, leaf-tipped, with the barb of longing, the sprout of intention—having made it well-aimed, may desire pierce you in the heart.
That well-formed arrow of desire, which dries up the spleen—sharp and pointed to the east—by that arrow I pierce you in the heart.
Pierced by the sharp arrow, with parched mouth, do not creep near; be gentle, free from anger, speaking kindly, devoted and faithful.
I am born from you, O offspring, from the mother and also from the father; so may your intentions, O resolute one, come to my mind.
Mitra and Varuṇa, scatter her thoughts from her heart; then, having made her without resolve, bring her under my control alone.
