He who alone bestows wealth upon the mortal worshipper, Indra, the lord, unconquered—indeed, he is present.
When will Indra, like a foot striking the earth, shake the wrongdoer? When will he listen to our words—indeed, he is present.
Whoever, among many, calls upon you for the pressing of Soma—upon him descends your mighty power, O Indra, indeed.
O Indra, most powerful, who delights in Soma, the exhilaration stirs you—by which you strike down the oppressor; with that we seek you.
By which you subdued the ten-armed, the Adhrigu, the trembling singer of the sun; by which you encompassed the ocean—with that we seek you.
By which you urge the great rivers, like chariots, O Indra, to flow—so that we may travel the path of immortality; with that we seek you.
May Indra, dear to us, the unconcealed, the winner of the full prize, be our support—broad as a mountain on every side, lord of the sky.
For truly, O true Soma-drinker, you have become both heaven and earth; O Indra, you are the strength of the one who presses Soma, lord of the sky.
You, Indra, are the destroyer of ancient forts; slayer of the Dasyu, greatly generous, lord of the sky.
Pour forth now, O officiant, the most exhilarating sweetness of the Soma; for thus the ever-strong hero is praised.
Indra, leader of the horses, no earlier praise is yours; with your might, raise up our song, not our defeat.
We, desiring fame, call upon you, lord of strength, to be increased by sacrifices that do not fail.
Now, O friends, let us praise Indra, the heroic man worthy of song, who alone has overcome all hosts.
Let speech be given for the seeker of cows, for the strong, for the shining one; let it be sweeter than clarified butter and honey.
Whose deeds are immeasurable, whose bounty none can surpass; like light, his generosity pervades all.
Praise Indra, who has the face of a horse, the wave, the winner of prizes, the restrainer, who grants life to the Arya, exalting the worshipper.
Thus now, praise the tenth and ninth Vaiyasva, the wise, the praiseworthy, the leader of the singers.
For you know, O wielder of the thunderbolt, the ways of destruction; day by day, you cleanse the paths, as it were, of footprints.
He who presses the Soma conquers the dwelling of fullness; indeed, the presser worships, removing the hatred of the gods, removing hatred. The presser desires a thousand rewards, full of strength. Indra grants to the presser abundant wealth, grants abundant wealth.
Let not those manly glories depart from us, nor the ancient splendors, nor the fame of our ancestors, nor the fame of our ancestors. Whatever is wondrous, new in every age, immortal in its sound—let the Maruts grant that to us, and whatever is hard to overcome, let them support, whatever is hard to overcome.
I consider Agni the priest, the generous, the wealthy, the son of strength, the knower of all births, wise as the knower of all births. He, the god, upright in his own rites, with divine compassion, follows the spreading of clarified butter, with his flame, with the ladle of ghee.
Blended with sacrifices, adorned with speckled steeds, shining in their ornaments, beloved indeed—having approached the sacred grass, O sons of Bharata, drink the Soma from the cup, O men of heaven.
Come here, O gods, O wise ones, worship, and O Hotar, sit in the three seats. Approach the poured-out Soma, drink the honeyed Soma from the Agnidh's share, satisfy your thirst for your portion.
This, indeed, is the strength of your body, increasing manliness, power, and vigor, placed in your arms in the sky. For you, O Maghavan, the Soma is pressed, for you it is brought; you are to drink, delighting in the Brahman's gift.
Whom I called before, him I now call; let him be invoked, the giver whose name is renowned. Drink the honeyed Soma, poured out by the priests, from the cup, O Soma-giver, with the seasons.
We offer to the beautiful-formed, for favor, as one milks a cow rich in milk; we pour out offerings, day by day.
Come to our Soma-pressings, drink the Soma, O Soma-drinker; the delight of the cows is here, O lord of wealth.
Now may we know the end of your gracious favors; do not go far from us, come near.
Go beyond the contest, ask the wise Indra, who grants favor to his friends.
Let our praises be spoken, let them spread from every side; Indra, grant us your gifts.
