एवा ह्यस्य काम्या स्तोम उक्थं च शंस्या । इन्द्राय सोमपीतये
Thus, his praiseworthy hymn and song are desirable, for Indra to drink the Soma.
तं ते मदं गृणीमसि वृषणं पृत्सु सासहिम् । उ लोककृत्नुमद्रिवो हरिश्रियम्
That exhilaration of yours we praise, O mighty one, victorious in battles, creator of worlds, O stone-armed, of shining beauty.
येन ज्योतीम्ष्यायवे मनवे च विवेदिथ । मन्दानो अस्य बर्हिषो वि राजसि
By whom you have discerned the lights for Ayu and Manu; you shine forth, delighted, upon his sacrificial grass.
तदद्या चित्त उक्थिनोऽनु ष्टुवन्ति पूर्वथा । वृषपत्नीरपो जया दिवेदिवे
Today, O Mind, the singers praise you as before; the wives of the mighty, the victorious waters, day by day.
तं वभि प्र गायत पुरुहूतं पुरुष्टुतम् । इन्द्रं गीर्भिस्तविषमा विवासत
Sing forth to him, the much-invoked, the much-praised; summon Indra with strong words.
यस्य द्विबर्हसो बृहत्सहो दाधार रोदसी । गिरींरज्रामपः स्वर्वृषत्वना
He whose double shelter, vast strength, upholds the heavens and earth; the mountains, the rivers, and the shining waters by his bull-like power.
स राजसि पुरुष्टुतमेको वृत्राणि जिघ्नसे । इन्द्र जैत्रा श्रवस्य च यन्तवे
You alone reign, much-praised, you slay the foes; Indra, for victory and for the attainment of fame.
वयमु त्वामपूर्व्य स्थूरं न कच्चिद्भरन्तोऽवस्यवः । वाजे चित्रं हवामहे
We call upon you, O unprecedented one, bearing you as a mighty burden; in the contest, we invoke you, O wondrous one.
उप त्वा कर्मन्न् ऊतये स नो युवोग्रश्चक्राम यो धृषत्। त्वामिद्ध्यवितारं ववृमहे सखाय इन्द्र सानसिम्
We approach you for help, O powerful one, who acts boldly; we choose you as our guide, O Indra, steadfast friend.
यो न इदमिदं पुरा प्र वस्य आनिनाय तमु व स्तुषे । सखाय इन्द्रमूतये
He who brought us forth long ago, we praise him; Indra, our friend, for aid.
हर्यश्वं सत्पतिं चर्षणीसहं स हि ष्मा यो अमन्दत । आ तु नः स वयति गव्यमश्व्यं स्तोतृभ्यो मघवा शतम्
The one with tawny horses, the true lord, who delights in the people; he brings us cattle and horses, Maghavan, a hundred for the singers.
इन्द्राय साम गायत विप्राय बृहते बृहत्। धर्मकृते विपश्चिते पनस्यवे
Sing a chant for Indra, the wise, the great, the mighty; for the doer of righteousness, the discerning, the prosperous.
त्वमिन्द्राभिभूरसि त्वं सूर्यमरोचयः । विश्वकर्मा विश्वदेवो महामसि
You, Indra, are all-powerful; you have made the sun shine; you are the maker of all, the god of all, the great one.
विभ्राजं ज्योतिषा स्वरगछो रोचनं दिवः । देवास्त इन्द्र सख्याय येमिरे
Radiant with light, you ascend to the luminous region of heaven; O Indra, the gods have chosen you for friendship.
तं वभि प्र गायत पुरुहूतं पुरुष्टुतम् । इन्द्रं गीर्भिस्तविषमा विवासत

Now, let us fulfill these worlds—Indra and all the gods; Indra, together with the Adityas, shapes our sacrifice, our bodies, and our offspring.
आदित्यैरिन्द्रः सगणो मरुद्भिरस्माकं भूत्वविता तनूनाम् । हत्वाय देवा असुरान् यदायन् देवा देवत्वमभिरक्षमाणाः
Indra, with the Adityas and the Maruts, be our protector of bodies; the gods, having slain the demons, when they conquered, preserved divinity for the gods.
प्रत्यञ्चमर्कमनयं छचीभिरादित्स्वधामिषिरां पर्यपश्यन् । अया वाजं देवहितं सनेम मदेम शतहिमाः सुवीराः
With the goddesses, I have led the sun facing us; they have seen the nourishing food all around; with this god-given prize, may we win, may we rejoice, a hundred strong, with good sons.
य एक इद्विदयते वसु मर्ताय दाशुषे । ईशानो अप्रतिष्कुत इन्द्रो अङ्ग
He who alone bestows wealth upon the mortal worshipper, Indra, the lord, unconquered—indeed, he is present.
कदा मर्तमराधसं पदा क्षुम्पमिव स्फुरत्। कदा नः शुश्रवद्गिर इन्द्रो अङ्ग
When will Indra, like a foot striking the earth, shake the wrongdoer? When will he listen to our words—indeed, he is present.
यश्चिद्धि त्वा बहुभ्य आ सुतावाँ आविवासति । उग्रं तत्पत्यते शव इन्द्रो अङ्ग
Whoever, among many, calls upon you for the pressing of Soma—upon him descends your mighty power, O Indra, indeed.
य इन्द्र सोमपातमो मदः शविष्ठ चेतति । येना हंसि न्यत्त्रिणं तमीमहे
O Indra, most powerful, who delights in Soma, the exhilaration stirs you—by which you strike down the oppressor; with that we seek you.
येना दशग्वमध्रिगुं वेपयन्तं स्वर्णरम् । येना समुद्रमाविथा तमीमहे
By which you subdued the ten-armed, the Adhrigu, the trembling singer of the sun; by which you encompassed the ocean—with that we seek you.
येन सिन्धुं महीरपो रथामिव प्रचोदयः । पन्थामृतस्य यातवे तमीमहे
By which you urge the great rivers, like chariots, O Indra, to flow—so that we may travel the path of immortality; with that we seek you.
एन्द्र नो गधि प्रियः सत्राजिदगोह्यः । गिरिर्न विश्वतस्पृथुः पतिर्दिवः
May Indra, dear to us, the unconcealed, the winner of the full prize, be our support—broad as a mountain on every side, lord of the sky.
अभि हि सत्य सोमपा उभे बभूथ रोदसी । इन्द्रासि सुन्वतो वृधः पतिर्दिवः
For truly, O true Soma-drinker, you have become both heaven and earth; O Indra, you are the strength of the one who presses Soma, lord of the sky.
त्वं हि शश्वतीनामिन्द्र दर्ता पुरामसि । हन्ता दस्योर्मनोर्वृधः पतिर्दिवः
You, Indra, are the destroyer of ancient forts; slayer of the Dasyu, greatly generous, lord of the sky.
एदु मध्वो मदिन्तरं सिञ्च वाध्वर्यो अन्धसः । एवा हि वीर स्तवते सदावृधः
Pour forth now, O officiant, the most exhilarating sweetness of the Soma; for thus the ever-strong hero is praised.
