O Sun, by your fame you are great; together, O god, you are great. By your greatness, O Sun, you are the priest of the gods, pervading, the undeceivable light.
Upwards, those sweet, intoxicating songs, hymns, are raised; for the ever-victorious, the wealthy, the inexhaustible, urging on like chariots to the prize.
Like the Kaṇvas, like the Bhṛgus, like the Sun, all shining forth, the eager ones glorify Indra with hymns; the dear-minded have sounded forth.
Indeed, his portion is increased, like wealth for the one who seeks to win; whom Indra, with his bays, does not harm—his enemy places skill in the Soma-offerer.
Place the unbroken, well-composed, beautiful hymn among the worshipful; even the former obstacles are crossed by him for whom Indra is present in action.
Thus, you are heroic, thus, O champion, you are steadfast; thus is your generous mind.
Thus, your bounty, O bestower of much, is placed among all the givers; even misfortunes, O Indra, are with me.
Do not grow weary like a priest, O Lord of Strength; delight in the pressed, cattle-rich Soma.
Thus, his true speech is abundant, rich in cows, great; like a ripe branch for the worshipper.
Thus, your powers and aids, O Indra, are for the helper; even immediately, they are for the worshipper.
Thus, his praiseworthy hymn and song are desirable, for Indra to drink the Soma.
That exhilaration of yours we praise, O mighty one, victorious in battles, creator of worlds, O stone-armed, of shining beauty.
By whom you have discerned the lights for Ayu and Manu; you shine forth, delighted, upon his sacrificial grass.
Today, O Mind, the singers praise you as before; the wives of the mighty, the victorious waters, day by day.
Sing forth to him, the much-invoked, the much-praised; summon Indra with strong words.
He whose double shelter, vast strength, upholds the heavens and earth; the mountains, the rivers, and the shining waters by his bull-like power.
You alone reign, much-praised, you slay the foes; Indra, for victory and for the attainment of fame.
We call upon you, O unprecedented one, bearing you as a mighty burden; in the contest, we invoke you, O wondrous one.
We approach you for help, O powerful one, who acts boldly; we choose you as our guide, O Indra, steadfast friend.
He who brought us forth long ago, we praise him; Indra, our friend, for aid.
The one with tawny horses, the true lord, who delights in the people; he brings us cattle and horses, Maghavan, a hundred for the singers.
Sing a chant for Indra, the wise, the great, the mighty; for the doer of righteousness, the discerning, the prosperous.
You, Indra, are all-powerful; you have made the sun shine; you are the maker of all, the god of all, the great one.
Radiant with light, you ascend to the luminous region of heaven; O Indra, the gods have chosen you for friendship.
Now, let us fulfill these worlds—Indra and all the gods; Indra, together with the Adityas, shapes our sacrifice, our bodies, and our offspring.
Indra, with the Adityas and the Maruts, be our protector of bodies; the gods, having slain the demons, when they conquered, preserved divinity for the gods.
With the goddesses, I have led the sun facing us; they have seen the nourishing food all around; with this god-given prize, may we win, may we rejoice, a hundred strong, with good sons.
