Like one with a hundred armies, he advances with might, he strikes down the foes for the worshipper; like rivers from a mountain, his gifts, rich in enjoyment, flow forth.
Now sing praise to the famed, wealth-giving Indra, for your desire; he who grants the desirable treasure to the one who presses Soma and sings, as if by the thousands, is magnified.
His countless weapons, hard to overcome, are with Indra, vast and full; like a mountain, the abundance flows among the generous when the pressed Somas are not lacking.
We, having pressed Soma, sit around you, O slayer of Vṛtra, like waters around the sacrificial grass; at the outpourings of the purifier, the singers are gathered.
Men call to you at the pressing, O giver of wealth, with hymns; when will you come home, O Indra, longing for the pressed Soma, like a bull roaring to its herd?
With the Kanvas, we seek you, O mighty one, of firm banner, of a thousand gifts, O generous one, of variegated form, among men; swiftly may we obtain the cattle.
Who knows him, who, at the pressing, is accompanied, who has set his mind? This one, who shatters the forts with his power, delighting in the strong Soma.
Like a wild beast, an elephant, he has set his course in many places; no one restrains you at the pressing, nor can your coming be checked, O mighty one.
He who is fierce, unopposed, steadfast, prepared for battle—if, O generous one, you hear the call of the singer, let not Indra go to the woman.
All the hosts, together with their allies, have fashioned Indra for kingship; by wisdom, most excellent, best of gifts, mighty, most powerful, strong and energetic.
The shouts have resounded together for Indra to drink Soma; when he, the lord of light, grows strong, steadfast in resolve, he advances with might and with his bands.
The spokes bow down to the rim, the singers with their voices to the ram; may your well-disposed, uninjuring, swift ones, O powerful one, come to your ears with their songs.
I call upon that Indra, the generous, the mighty, who upholds the sacrifice, whose powers are unconquered; most great in songs, worthy of worship, may the wielder of the bolt make all our paths auspicious for our wealth.
Whatever strength you, Indra, have brought from the lords of light among the gods, increase for this singer, O generous one, and for those who, like you, are seated on the sacrificial grass.
To whom, O Indra, you have given the horse, the cow, the unfailing share—place that with the sacrificer, the Soma-presser, the giver of gifts; do not give it to the niggard.
Indra has grown strong with the exhilaration, with men, as the slayer of Vṛtra, for might; we call upon him in this great battle, in this contest, may he enter us for victory.
For you are indeed a heroic warrior, you grant abundant spoils; you are the strength even of the weak, you provide for the worshipper; much wealth is yours for the one who presses Soma.
When the prizes are called forth for the bold, when wealth is set for the contest, harness your exhilarated steeds; whom will you strike, whom will you grant riches? Indra, may you grant us those riches.
May you, with joy, grant us herds of cattle, you of straight intent; gather together for us many hundreds, both on the right and left, seize the wealth, shower us with treasure, bring it here.
Rejoice in the pressed Soma, be present for strength, O mighty one, for bounty; for we know you as the giver of many gifts, we send forth our desires to you—so then, be our protector.
These, O Indra, your people, prosper in every prize; among them, you are manifest, O noble one, the wise, the undeceived—may you know of us, bring that here.
To the one who shapes beautiful forms for help, as a cow yields milk to the milker, we offer oblations, day by day.
Come to our libations, drink of the Soma, O Soma-drinker; the exhilaration of the generous is here, O god.
Then may we know the limit of your gracious favors; do not pass us by—come here.
For help, protect the most vigorous, the glorious, the ever-watchful; Indra, drink the Soma, O hundred-powered.
The powers, O hundred-powered, that are yours among the five peoples—Indra, I choose those for you.
Indra, grant us great fame, bestow unconquerable glory; by your might, we shall overcome.
Come to us from near, and also, O mighty one, from afar; the world that is yours, O stone-armed Indra, come here from there.
Indra, indeed, sits in great dread, he does not waver; for he is firm, the most active.
May Indra show us mercy, may no harm come to us from behind; may good be before us.
