असंतापं मे हृदयमुर्वी गव्यूतिः समुद्रो अस्मि विधर्मणा
My heart is without distress; I am vast, a pasture for cattle, an ocean, established in law.
नाभिरहं रयीणां नाभिः समानानां भूयासम्
May I be the navel of riches, the navel of those who are equal.
स्वासदसि सूषा अमृतो मर्त्येश्वा
You are a seat, a vessel, immortal among mortals.
मा मां प्राणो हासीन् मो अपानोऽवहाय परा गात्
Let my breath not depart; let my outgoing breath not go away and leave me.
सूर्यो माह्नः पात्वग्निः पृथिव्या वायुरन्तरिक्षाद्यमो मनुष्येभ्यः सरस्वती पार्थिवेभ्यः
May the sun protect the day, Agni the earth, Vāyu the atmosphere, Yama among men, Sarasvatī among earthly beings.
प्राणापनौ मा मा हासिष्टं मा जने प्र मेषि
Let my breath and outgoing breath not be lost; do not drive me away among people.
स्वस्त्यद्योषसो दोषसश्च सर्व आपः सर्वगणो अशीय
May all the auspicious dawns and dusks, all waters, all assemblies be enjoyed.
शक्वरी स्थ पशवो मोप स्थेषुर्मित्रावरुणौ मे प्राणापानावग्निर्मे दक्षं दधातु
You are Śakvarī, you are cattle; let not Mitra and Varuṇa depart from me; may my breath and outgoing breath, may Agni grant me skill.
विद्म ते स्वप्न जनित्रं ग्राह्याः पुत्रोऽसि यमस्य करणः । अन्तकोऽसि मृत्युरसि । तं त्वा स्वप्न तथा सं विद्म स नः स्वप्न दुष्वप्न्यात्पाहि
We know your origin, O sleep; you are the son of Yama, the agent; you are the ender, you are death. Thus we know you, O sleep; protect us from evil dreams.
विद्म ते स्वप्न जनित्रं निर्ऋत्याः पुत्रोऽसि यमस्य करणः । अन्तकोऽसि मृत्युरसि । तं त्वा स्वप्न तथा सं विद्म स नः स्वप्न दुष्वप्न्यात्पाहि

We know your origin, O sleep; you are the son of Nirbhūti, the agent of Yama; you are the ender, you are death. Thus we know you, O sleep; protect us from evil dreams.
विद्म ते स्वप्न जनित्रं पराभूत्याः पुत्रोऽसि यमस्य करणः । अन्तकोऽसि मृत्युरसि । तं त्वा स्वप्न तथा सं विद्म स नः स्वप्न दुष्वप्न्यात्पाहि
We know your origin, O dream; you are the child of defeat, the agent of Yama. You are the Ender, you are Death. Thus, O dream, we recognize you; protect us, O dream, from evil dreams.
विद्म ते स्वप्न जनित्रं देवजामीनां पुत्रोऽसि यमस्य करणः । अन्तकोऽसि मृत्युरसि । तं त्वा स्वप्न तथा सं विद्म स नः स्वप्न दुष्वप्न्यात्पाहि
We know your origin, O dream; you are the child of the offspring of the gods, the agent of Yama. You are the Ender, you are Death. Thus, O dream, we recognize you; protect us, O dream, from evil dreams.
अजैष्माद्यासनामद्यामूमनागसो वयम्
Today we have conquered, today we have sat down, today we are free from guilt.
उषो यस्माद्दुष्वप्न्यादभैष्माप तदुच्छतु
Because of which evil dream we were afraid—let that vanish away.
द्विषते तत्परा वह शपते तत्परा वह
Carry that away from us which is hateful, carry that away from us which is cursed.
यं द्विष्मो यश्च नो द्वेष्टि तस्मा एनद्गमयामः
Whom we hate and who hates us, to him let this be sent.
उषा देवी वाचा संविदाना वाग्देव्युषसा संविदाना
The goddess Dawn, agreeing with speech, the goddess of speech, agreeing with Dawn.
उषस्पतिर्वाचस्पतिना संविदानो वाचस्पतिना संविदानः
The lord of Dawn, agreeing with the lord of speech, the lord of speech, agreeing with the lord of Dawn.
तेऽमुष्मै परा वहन्त्वरायान् दुर्णाम्नः सदान्वाः
May they carry away for him those constant followers of misfortune, the swift ones of evil speech.
कुम्भीकाः दूषीकाः पीयकान्
The Kumbhikas, the Dushikas, the Piyakas.
जाग्रद्दुष्वप्न्यं स्वप्नेदुष्वप्न्यम्
Evil in dreams while awake, evil in dreams while asleep.
अनागमिष्यतो वरान् अवित्तेः संकल्पान् अमुच्या द्रुहः पाशान्
Let the bonds of deceit, the intentions of the unwise, the desires of the impoverished, not return here.
तदमुष्मा अग्ने देवाः परा वहन्तु वघ्रिर्यथासद्विथुरो न साधुः
May the gods, O Agni, carry that away for him, as a wolf carries off a cripple, not a worthy one.
तेनैनं विध्याम्यभूत्यैनं विध्यामि निर्भूत्यैनं विध्यामि पराभूत्यैनं विध्यामि ग्राह्यैनं विध्यामि तमसैनं विध्यामि
With this I strike him with misfortune, I strike him with ruin, I strike him with destruction, I strike him with defeat, I strike him with capture, I strike him with darkness.
देवानामेनं घोरैः क्रूरैः प्रैषैरभिप्रेष्यामि
With the dreadful, fierce messengers of the gods, I send him forth.
वैश्वानरस्यैनं दंष्ट्रयोरपि दधामि
I place him between the jaws of Vaiśvānara.
एवानेवाव सा गरत्
Thus, thus, may she devour him.
योऽस्मान् द्वेष्टि तमात्मा द्वेष्टु यं वयं द्विष्मः स आत्मानं द्वेष्टु
Whoever hates us, let his own self hate him; whom we hate, let his own self hate him.
