You are the leaf, a body-protector, united with a hero, heroic with me. With the energy of the year, with that I bind you, O jewel.
The male offspring of the male, the Aśvattha tree, stands above the Khadira. May it strike down my enemies—those whom I hate and those who hate me.
O Aśvattha, cast out those enemies, drive them away far off; with Indra, the slayer of Vṛtra, with Mitra, and with Varuṇa.
Just as the Aśvattha tree has been cast down into the deep, vast ocean, so may you cast down all those whom I hate and those who hate me.
You who endure, moving about, like a bull among those who endure—by you, O Aśvattha, may we overcome our rivals.
With your strength, may destruction and the snares of death be loosened; O Aśvattha, cast down my enemies—those whom I hate and those who hate me.
As you cause the roots of the aśvattha tree to grow upwards, so likewise, strike and shatter in every direction the head of my enemy, and overpower him.
Let those who are cast down drift away, like a boat cut loose from its moorings; for those driven away by distress, there is no return.
I drive them away with mind, with thought, and with sacred utterance; with the branch of the aśvattha tree, we drive them away.
Upon the head of the swift-moving deer is a remedy; with its horn, it has destroyed the kṣetriya, the wasting disease, and the evil spirit.
The vigorous deer followed you with its four feet; in its horn is the remedy for what kṣetriya is lodged in his heart.
That which has been revealed, like a cover with four corners—by that we destroy all kṣetriya from your limbs.
Those who are in the sky, O fortunate one, wandering as stars by name—may they release the lower and upper bonds of kṣetriya from you.
The waters, indeed, are healing; the waters are disease-removing; the waters are the remedy for all—may they release you from kṣetriya.
Whatever kṣetriya has been produced in you from the act of striking, I know the remedy for that; I destroy the kṣetriya in you.
From the withdrawal of the stars, from the withdrawal of the dawns, let all misfortune depart from us, let the kṣetriya be removed.
Let Mitra come here with the seasons, arranging the earth with the rays; then may Varuṇa, Vāyu, and Agni establish for us a great, secure domain.
May Dhātṛ, Rati, and Savitṛ accept this; may Indra and Tvaṣṭṛ favor my speech; I invoke the goddess Aditi, mother of heroes, to be among her kin as the best.
I invoke Soma, the impeller, with reverence, and all the Ādityas in the north; this Agni has blazed forth long with his kin, kindled by those who do not contradict.
Here you should stay, do not go elsewhere—he who is the herdsman, the lord of nourishment, has come; for his desire, let all you gods, desiring, come together.
May your minds, your vows, your intentions be united, I bow to you; those of you who are divided, I bring you together.
I take hold of your minds with my mind; my thought follows your thoughts; I bring your hearts under my control, let your paths follow mine.
Heaven is the father, earth is the mother of the ploughshare and its share; as the gods have joined them, so, waters, join them again.
Those who could not bear, were supported; so it was done by Manu; I make the barren branch fruitful, like the udder of cows.
With a tawny thread, they bind the khṛgala; let the skilled ones make the shravasyu, the shushma, the kābava, and the vadhri firm.
By which the shravasyus move, as gods with the illusion of asuras; the bandhurā and the kābava are like a monkey, a defiler.
For harm, I will revile you, I will defile the kābava; like chariots without horses, you will go forth with curses.
A hundred viṣkandhas are spread over the earth; among them, they have lifted you up in front, the jewel, the defiler of viṣkandha.
She was the first to awaken, she became the cow of Yama; may she, rich in milk, yield for us the highest, the utmost abundance.
Whom the gods delight in, the night approaching as a cow; she, the wife of the year, may she be auspicious for us.
