अङ्गेअङ्गे लोम्निलोम्नि यस्ते पर्वणिपर्वणि । यक्ष्मं त्वचस्यं ते वयं कश्यपस्य वीबर्हेण विष्वञ्चं वि वृहामसि
From every limb, every hair, every joint— the disease of your skin, we, with the remedy of Kashyapa, drive out completely.
य ईशे पशुपतिः पशूनां चतुष्पदामुत यो द्विपदाम् । निष्क्रीतः स यज्ञियं भागमेतु रायस्पोषा यजमानं सचन्ताम्
He who rules, the Lord of cattle, of four-footed and two-footed beings— may he, set apart, come to the sacrificial share; may prosperity and abundance attend the sacrificer.
प्रमुञ्चन्तो भुवनस्य रेतो गातुं धत्त यजमानाय देवाः । उपाकृतं शशमानं यदस्थात्प्रियं देवानामप्येतु पाथः
Releasing the seed of the world, O gods, grant passage to the sacrificer; let what is prepared and what is at rest, which is dear to the gods, also reach the path.
ये बध्यमानमनु दीध्याना अन्वैक्षन्त मनसा चक्षुषा च । अग्निष्टान् अग्रे प्र मुमोक्तु देवो विश्वकर्मा प्रजया संरराणः
Those who, reflecting, observed the one being bound, with mind and with eye—may Agni, standing at the front, release him, the divine Maker of all, rejoicing with offspring.
ये ग्राम्याः पशवो विश्वरूपा विरूपाः सन्तो बहुधैकरूपाः । वायुष्टान् अग्रे प्र मुमोक्तु देवः प्रजापतिः प्रजया संरराणः
The domestic animals, of all forms, though dissimilar, being many yet of one form—may Vāyu, standing at the front, release them, the divine Lord of creatures, rejoicing with offspring.
प्रजानन्तः प्रति गृह्णन्तु पूर्वे प्राणमङ्गेभ्यः पर्याचरन्तम् । दिवं गच्छ प्रति तिष्ठा शरीरैः स्वर्गं याहि पथिभिर्देवयानैः
Let the ancestors, knowing their descendants, receive him who moves around the limbs with breath; go to heaven, stand firm with your body, proceed to the heavenly world by the paths of the gods.
ये भक्षयन्तो न वसून्यानृधुर्यान् अग्नयो अन्वतप्यन्त धिष्ण्याः । या तेषामवया दुरिष्टिः स्विष्टिं नस्तां कृणवद्विश्वकर्मा
Those who, consuming, did not act unrighteously, whom the fires, the seats, followed—may the ill-will among them, their discord, be made right for us by the Maker of all.
यज्ञपतिमृषयः एनसाहुर्निर्भक्तं प्रजा अनुतप्यमानम् । मथव्यान्त्स्तोकान् अप यान् रराध सं नष्टेभिः सृजतु विश्वकर्मा
The sages called the lord of sacrifice sinful, the people, suffering, called him abandoned; whatever harm he did to children by churning, may the Maker of all restore us together with the lost.
अदान्यान्त्सोमपान् मन्यमानो यज्ञस्य विद्वान्त्समये न धीरः । यदेनश्चकृवान् बद्ध एष तं विश्वकर्मन् प्र मुञ्चा स्वस्तये
Thinking himself not to be a giver, a drinker of soma, wise in the sacrifice, not steadfast at the right time—if he has committed a sin and is bound, O Maker of all, release him for well-being.
घोरा ऋषयो नमो अस्त्वेभ्यश्चक्षुर्यदेषां मनसश्च सत्यम् । बृहस्पतये महिष द्युमन्न् नमो विश्वकर्मन् नमस्ते पाह्यस्मान्
Terrible are the seers—homage to them! May their sight and their mind be true. To Bṛhaspati, the mighty, radiant one, homage! To the Maker of all, homage! Protect us.
यज्ञस्य चक्षुः प्रभृतिर्मुखं च वाचा श्रोत्रेण मनसा जुहोमि । इमं यज्ञं विततं विश्वकर्मणा देवा यन्तु सुमनस्यमानाः
The eye of the sacrifice, its beginning, and its mouth—I offer with speech, with hearing, and with mind. May the gods, well-disposed, come to this sacrifice extended by the Maker of all.
आ नो अग्ने सुमतिं संभलो गमेदिमां कुमारीं सह नो भगेन । जुष्टा वरेषु समनेषु वल्गुरोषं पत्या सौभगमस्तु अस्यै
May Agni come to us with good will and support; may this maiden come to us with fortune; favored in choosing, in assemblies, and in delight, may she obtain happiness in her marriage.
सोमजुष्टं ब्रह्मजुष्टमर्यम्णा संभृतं भगम् । धातुर्देवस्य सत्येन कृणोमि पतिवेदनम्
Favored by Soma, favored by sacred utterance, gathered by Aryaman and Bhaga, by the truth of the divine Creator, I make the declaration of marriage.
इयमग्ने नारी पतिं विदेष्ट सोमो हि राजा सुभगां कृणोति । सुवाना पुत्रान् महिषी भवाति गत्वा पतिं सुभगा वि राजतु
O Agni, let this woman find a husband; for Soma the king makes her fortunate. Bearing sons, let her be a queen; having gone to her husband, let her shine in good fortune.
यथाखरो मघवंश्चारुरेष प्रियो मृगाणां सुषदा बभूव । एवा भगस्य जुष्टेयमस्तु नारी संप्रिया पत्याविराधयन्ती
As the donkey, dear to Maghavan, became pleasing to the wild animals and easy to seat, so may this woman, favored by Bhaga, be dear to her husband, not offending him.
भगस्य नावमा रोह पूर्णामनुपदस्वतीम् । तयोपप्रतारय यो वरः प्रतिकाम्यः
Climb the boat of Bhaga, full and ever-moving; with it, approach the suitor who is to be met.
आ क्रन्दय धनपते वरमामनसं कृणु । सर्वं प्रदक्षिणं कृणु यो वरः प्रतिकाम्यः
Cry out, O lord of wealth, make the suitor eager; make everything favorable for the suitor who is to be met.
इदं हिरण्यं गुल्गुल्वयमौक्षो अथो भगः । एते पतिभ्यस्त्वामदुः प्रतिकामाय वेत्तवे ॥७ आ ते नयतु सविता नयतु पतिर्यः प्रतिकाम्यः । त्वमस्यै धेह्योषधे
This gold, this amulet, this bull, and Bhaga—these they give to the husbands for the suitor to know. May Savitṛ lead you, may your husband lead you, the one who is to be met; you, O herb, place her with him.
अग्निर्नः शत्रून् प्रत्येतु विद्वान् प्रतिदहन्न् अभिशस्तिमरातिम् । स सेनां मोहयतु परेषां निर्हस्तांश्च कृणवज्जातवेदाः
May Agni, knowing, confront our enemies, burning up curses and hostility; may Jātavedas bewilder the army of others and make their hands powerless.
यूयमुग्रा मरुत ईदृशे स्थाभि प्रेत मृणत सहध्वम् । अमीमृणन् वसवो नाथिता इमे अग्निर्ह्येषां दूतः प्रत्येतु विद्वान्
You, fierce Maruts, be present in such a way; come here, slay, and help. These Vasus, being called upon, have come to aid; for Agni is their messenger, knowing, who confronts them.
अमित्रसेनां मघवन्न् अस्मान् छत्रूयतीमभि । युवं तामिन्द्र वृत्रहन्न् अग्निश्च दहतं प्रति
O Maghavan, may you burn the hostile army that opposes us; O Indra, slayer of Vṛtra, and Agni, together destroy it.
प्रसूत इन्द्र प्रवता हरिभ्यां प्र ते वज्रः प्रमृणन्न् एतु शत्रून् । जहि प्रतीचो अनूचः पराचो विष्वक्सत्यं कृणुहि चित्तमेषाम्
O Indra, let your thunderbolt, driven by the steeds, strike down the enemies; slay those who face us, those behind, and those afar; make their minds unstable everywhere.
इन्द्र सेनां मोहयामित्राणाम् । अग्नेर्वातस्य ध्राज्या तान् विषूचो वि नाशय
O Indra, confound the armies of our enemies; by the force of Agni and Vāta, scatter and destroy those adversaries.
इन्द्रः सेनां मोहयतु मरुतो घ्नन्त्वोजसा । चक्षूंस्यग्निरा दत्तां पुनरेतु पराजिता
Let Indra bewilder the enemy's army, let the Maruts strike them with strength; may Agni take away their sight, and let the defeated return.
अग्निर्नो दूतः प्रत्येतु विद्वान् प्रतिदहन्न् अभिशस्तिमरातिम् । स चित्तानि मोहयतु परेषां निर्हस्तांश्च कृणवज्जातवेदाः
May Agni, our wise messenger, come forward, burning away curses and hostility; let Jātavedas confuse the minds of others and render them powerless.
अयमग्निरमूमुहद्यानि चित्तानि वो हृदि । वि वो धमत्वोकसः प्र वो धमतु सर्वतः
This Agni will bewilder whatever thoughts are in your hearts; let him blow away your dwellings, let him disperse you entirely.
इन्द्र चित्तानि मोहयन्न् अर्वाङाकूत्या चर । अग्नेर्वातस्य ध्राज्या तान् विषूचो वि नाशय
O Indra, bewilder their minds as you move forward with intent; by the force of Agni and Vāta, scatter and destroy those adversaries.
व्याकूतय एषामिताथो चित्तानि मुह्यत । अथो यदद्यैषां हृदि तदेषां परि निर्जहि
Let their intentions be confused, let their minds be bewildered; and whatever is in their hearts today, drive it away from them.
अमीषां चित्तानि प्रतिमोहयन्ती गृहाणाङ्गान्यप्वे परेहि । अभि प्रेहि निर्दह हृत्सु शोकैर्ग्राह्यामित्रांस्तमसा विध्य शत्रून्
Take hold of their minds, bewilder them, and depart from their bodies; go forth, burn them with anguish in their hearts, seize the enemies, strike the adversaries with darkness.
असौ या सेना मरुतः परेषामस्मान् ऐत्यभ्योजसा स्पर्धमाना । तां विध्यत तमसापव्रतेन यथैषामन्यो अन्यं न जानात्
That army of the Maruts belonging to others, which comes against us, competing with strength, strike it with darkness and deception, so that none among them knows another.
