O ram, drive away the demon for these; O well-spoken one, come near with your favor. The first, the ancient ones, the ancestors, may the descendants of seers, the eaters, not come to harm.
Among the descendants of seers I place you, O porridge; there are also other descendants of seers here. Agni is my protector, and all the Maruts, all the gods, may they guard the cooked food.
The sacrifice, ever-yielding, ever-fattened, the bull, the cow, the seat of riches. May offspring, immortality, and long life, and wealth with abundance, come to you together.
You are the bull, heavenly; go to the seers, descendants of seers. In the world of the righteous, settle there our prepared offering.
Gather together, proceed in order; O Agni, prepare the path of the gods. With these good deeds may we follow the sacrifice, to the heaven where the seven-rayed one abides.
By which the gods ascended to heaven with light, having cooked the sacrificial porridge, to the world of the righteous—by that may we ascend to the world of the righteous, reaching the highest heaven.

With the weapon of the blue-crested, thousand-eyed, swift Rudra, the half-striker, may we not contend.
May Bhava encompass us on all sides, like water or fire surrounds; may Bhava protect us. May he not attack us; let there be reverence to him.

Four times, eight times, ten times we bow to Bhava, to you, O Lord of Beings. These five creatures of yours are divided: cows, horses, men, goats.
Your four directions, your heaven, your earth, this fierce midspace of yours; all this belongs to you, whatever breathes upon the earth.
Your broad vessel is the earth, in which all worlds dwell. Be gracious to us, O Lord of Beings; we bow to you. Let the distant howlers, the loud barkers, the far-going, the fierce-haired, stay away.

You bear a green bow, golden, striking a thousand, slaying a hundred, crested. The arrow of Rudra moves, divine weapon; to it, and to the direction where it is aimed, we bow.
Whoever approaches to harm you, Rudra, whoever seeks to injure you, let him be struck from behind, like the track of a wounded one.
Bhava and Rudra, united, knowing together, both fierce, moving for strength; to them, and to the direction where their weapon is aimed, we bow.
Salutations to you who advances, salutations to you who withdraws. Salutations to you, Rudra, standing and sitting; to you, we bow.

Let him not harm us, speak kindly to us, surround us, do not be angry. May we not contend with you.

To you belong the wild animals of the forest, the beasts set in the woods, swans, eagles, birds, and flying creatures. Your mysterious power, O Lord of Beasts, the divine waters pour forth within the waters for your increase.
