अरिप्रा आपो अप रिप्रमस्मत्। प्रास्मदेनो दुरितं सुप्रतीकाः प्र दुष्वप्न्यं प्र मलं वहन्तु
O waters, drive away the foe from us; drive away guilt and evil from us. With your fair forms, carry away bad dreams and impurity.
विष्णोः क्रमोऽसि सपत्नहा पृथिवीसंशितोऽग्नितेजाः । पृथिवीमनु वि क्रमेऽहं पृथिव्यास्तं निर्भजामो योऽस्मान् द्वेष्टि यं वयं द्विष्मः । स मा जीवीत्तं प्राणो जहातु
You are the stride of Viṣṇu, slayer of rivals, established in the earth, possessing the energy of Agni. As Viṣṇu’s stride, I step forth upon the earth; from the earth we drive out the one who hates us or whom we hate. May he not live; may his breath depart.
विष्णोः क्रमोऽसि सपत्नहान्तरिक्षसंशितो वायुतेजाः । अन्तरिक्षमनु वि क्रमेऽहमन्तरिक्षात्तं निर्भजामो योऽस्मान् द्वेष्टि यं वयं द्विष्मः । स मा जीवीत्तं प्राणो जहातु
You are the stride of Viṣṇu, slayer of rivals, established in the atmosphere, possessing the energy of Vāyu. As Viṣṇu’s stride, I step forth in the atmosphere; from the atmosphere we drive out the one who hates us or whom we hate. May he not live; may his breath depart.
विष्णोः क्रमोऽसि सपत्नहा द्यौसंशितः सूर्यतेजाः । दिवमनु वि क्रमेऽहं दिवस्तं निर्भजामो योऽस्मान् द्वेष्टि यं वयं द्विष्मः । स मा जीवीत्तं प्राणो जहातु
You are the stride of Viṣṇu, slayer of rivals, established in the sky, possessing the energy of Sūrya. As Viṣṇu’s stride, I step forth in the sky; from the sky we drive out the one who hates us or whom we hate. May he not live; may his breath depart.

You are the stride of Vishnu, destroyer of rivals, established in hope, with the power of wind. I stride along hope; from hope we separate him who hates us, whom we hate. May his life, his breath, depart from him.
विष्णोः क्रमोऽसि सपत्नहा ऋक्संशितो सामतेजाः । ऋचोऽनु वि क्रमेऽहमृग्भ्यस्तं निर्भजामो योऽस्मान् द्वेष्टि यं वयं द्विष्मः । स मा जीवीत्तं प्राणो जहातु
You are the stride of Vishnu, destroyer of rivals, established in the Rig, with the power of harmony. I stride along the Rig; from the Rig we separate him who hates us, whom we hate. May his life, his breath, depart from him.
{१५} विष्णोः क्रमोऽसि सपत्नहा यज्ञसंशितो ब्रह्मतेजाः । यज्ञमनु वि क्रमेऽहं यज्ञात्तं निर्भजामो योऽस्मान् द्वेष्टि यं वयं द्विष्मः । स मा जीवीत्तं प्राणो जहातु
You are the stride of Vishnu, destroyer of rivals, established in sacrifice, with the power of Brahman. I stride along sacrifice; from sacrifice we separate him who hates us, whom we hate. May his life, his breath, depart from him.
विष्णोः क्रमोऽसि सपत्नहौषधीसंशितो सोमतेजाः । ओषधीरनु वि क्रमेऽहमोषधीभ्यस्तं निर्भजामो योऽस्मान् द्वेष्टि यं वयं द्विष्मः । स मा जीवीत्तं प्राणो जहातु
You are the stride of Vishnu, destroyer of rivals, established in herbs, with the power of Soma. I stride along herbs; from herbs we separate him who hates us, whom we hate. May his life, his breath, depart from him.
विष्णोः क्रमोऽसि सपत्नहाप्सुसंशितो वरुणतेजाः । अपोऽनु वि क्रमेऽहमद्भ्यस्तं निर्भजामो योऽस्मान् द्वेष्टि यं वयं द्विष्मः । स मा जीवीत्तं प्राणो जहातु
You are the stride of Vishnu, destroyer of rivals, established in waters, with the power of Varuna. I stride along waters; from waters we separate him who hates us, whom we hate. May his life, his breath, depart from him.
विष्णोः क्रमोऽसि सपत्नहा कृषिसंशितोऽन्नतेजाः । कृषिमनु वि क्रमेऽहं कृष्यास्तं निर्भजामो योऽस्मान् द्वेष्टि यं वयं द्विष्मः । स मा जीवीत्तं प्राणो जहातु
You are the stride of Vishnu, destroyer of rivals, established in agriculture, with the power of food. I stride along agriculture; from agriculture we separate him who hates us, whom we hate. May his life, his breath, depart from him.

जितमस्माकमुद्भिन्नमस्माकमभ्यष्ठां विश्वाः पृतना अरातीः । इदमहमामुष्यायणस्यामुष्याः पुत्रस्य वर्चस्तेजः प्राणमायुर्नि वेष्टयामीदमेनमधराञ्चं पादयामि
Victory is ours, breaking forth is ours; all battles and hostilities have been overcome. This I bind upon the descendant of that lineage, upon that son: his radiance, power, breath, and life. I wrap him in this, I lay him low.
सूर्यस्यावृतमन्वावर्ते दक्षिणामन्वावृतम् । सा मे द्रविणं यच्छतु सा मे ब्राह्मणवर्चसम्
I follow the turning of the sun, I follow the turning of the right. May she grant me wealth, may she grant me the brilliance of the Brahman.
दिशो ज्योतिष्मतीरभ्यावर्ते । ता मे द्रविणं यच्छन्तु ता मे ब्राह्मणवर्चसम्
I follow the luminous directions. May they grant me wealth, may they grant me the brilliance of the Brahman.
सप्तऋषीन् अभ्यावर्ते । ते मे द्रविणं यच्छन्तु ते मे ब्राह्मणवर्चसम्
I follow the Seven Sages. May they grant me wealth, may they grant me the brilliance of the Brahman.
ब्रह्माभ्यावर्ते । तन् मे द्रविणं यच्छन्तु तन् मे ब्राह्मणवर्चसम्
I follow the Brahman. May it grant me wealth, may it grant me the brilliance of the Brahman.
{१६} ब्राह्मणामभ्यावर्ते । ते मे द्रविणं यच्छन्तु ते मे ब्राह्मणवर्चसम्
I follow the Brahmins. May they grant me wealth, may they grant me the brilliance of the Brahman.
यं वयं मृगयामहे तं वधै स्तृणवामहै । व्यात्ते परमेष्ठिनो ब्रह्मणापीपदाम तम्
Whom we seek, we lay him down for slaughter. With the opened jaws of the supreme Brahman, we crush him.
वैश्वानरस्य दंष्ट्राभ्यां हेतिस्तं समधादभि । इयं तं प्सात्वाहुतिः समिद्देवी सहीयसी
With the fangs of Vaiśvānara, the weapon is fixed upon him. This offering, this fuel, O goddess, is powerful and victorious.
राज्ञो वरुणस्य बन्धोऽसि । सोऽमुमामुष्यायणममुष्याः पुत्रमन्ने प्राणे बधान
You are the bond of King Varuna. Bind that descendant, that son, in food and breath.
यत्ते अन्नं भुवस्पत आक्षियति पृथिवीमनु । तस्य नस्त्वं भुवस्पते संप्रयच्छ प्रजापते
Whatever food, O Lord of Food, the earth draws forth, grant that to us, O Lord of Food, O Lord of Creatures.
अपो दिव्या अचायिषं रसेन समपृक्ष्महि । पयस्वान् अग्न आगमं तं मा सं सृज वर्चसा
I have approached the celestial waters; with their essence we have mingled. Rich in milk, O Agni, I have come—do not deprive me of radiance.
सं माग्ने वर्चसा सृज सं प्रजया समायुषा । विद्युर्मे अस्य देवा इन्द्रो विद्यात्सह ऋषिभिः
Unite me, O Agni, with radiance, with offspring, and with long life. May the gods, may Indra, may the sages, grant me knowledge of this.
यदग्ने अद्य मिथुना शपतो यद्वाचस्तृष्टं जनयन्त रेभाः । मन्योर्मनसः शरव्या जायते या तया विध्य हृदये यातुधानान्
Whatever curses or hostile words, O Agni, have today been uttered by adversaries, whatever arrows of thought or mind are born—by that, strike the sorcerers in their hearts.
परा शृणीहि तपसा यातुधानान् पराग्ने रक्षो हरसा शृणीहि । परार्चिषा मूरदेवां छृणीहि परासुतृपः शोशुचतः शृणीहि
Drive away the sorcerers with your heat, O Agni; drive away the demons with your might. With your flame, drive away the rootless spirits; drive away the blood-drinkers, the devourers, with your burning.
अपामस्मै वज्रं प्र हरामि चतुर्भृष्टिं शीर्षभिद्याय विद्वान् । सो अस्याङ्गानि प्र शृणातु सर्वा तन् मे देवा अनु जानन्तु विश्वे
I hurl at him the thunderbolt, four-edged, to shatter the head, knowing. May he hear all these words; may all the gods acknowledge this for me.
अरातीयोर्भ्रातृव्यस्य दुर्हार्दो द्विषतः शिरः । अपि वृश्चाम्योजसा
With my strength, I would even cut off the head of the enemy, the rival, the malicious, the hater.
वर्म मह्यमयं मणिः फालाज्जातः करिष्यति । पूर्णो मन्थेन मागमद्रसेन सह वर्चसा
May this amulet, born from the ploughshare, serve as my armor; filled with the churn, let it come to me with essence and radiance.
यत्त्वा शिक्वः परावधीत्तक्षा हस्तेन वास्या । आपस्त्वा तस्मज्जीवलाः पुनन्तु शुचयः शुचिम्
Whatever the carpenter or the ploughman has injured you with his hand, may the living, pure waters cleanse you from that, O pure one.
