तस्मा उद्यन्त्सूर्यो हिङ्कृणोति संगवः प्र स्तौति । मध्यन्दिन उद्गायत्यपराह्णः प्रति हरत्यस्तंयन् निधनम् । निधनं भूत्याः प्रजायाः पशूनां भवति य एवं वेद
Therefore, at sunrise the sun utters the hiṅ sound, at mid-morning he praises, at midday he sings forth, in the afternoon he brings forth, at sunset the resting place; the resting place becomes that of prosperity, offspring, and cattle for him who knows thus.
तस्मा अभ्रो भवन् हिङ्कृणोति स्तनयन् प्र स्तौति । विद्योतमानः प्रति हरति वर्षन्न् उद्गायत्युद्गृह्णन् निधनम् । निधनं भूत्याः प्रजायाः पशूनां भवति य एवं वेद
Therefore, the cloud utters the hiṅ sound, thundering it praises, flashing it brings forth, raining it sings forth, pouring out it takes up the resting place; the resting place becomes that of prosperity, offspring, and cattle for him who knows thus.
अतिथीन् प्रति पश्यति हिङ्कृणोत्यभि वदति प्र स्तौत्युदकं याचत्युद्गायति । उप हरति प्रति हरत्युच्छिष्टं निधनम् । निधनं भूत्याः प्रजायाः पशूनां भवति य एवं वेद
He looks towards guests, utters the hiṅ sound, greets, praises, asks for water, sings forth, offers, brings forth, and the leavings are the resting place; the resting place becomes that of prosperity, offspring, and cattle for him who knows thus.
9.7 प्रजापतिश्च परमेष्ठी च शृङ्गे इन्द्रः शिरो अग्निर्ललाटं यमः कृकाटम्
Prajāpati and Parameṣṭhin are the horns, Indra is the head, Agni the forehead, Yama the occiput.
सोमो राजा मस्तिष्को द्यौरुत्तरहनुः पृथिव्यधरहनुः
Soma the king is the brain, heaven is the upper jaw, earth the lower jaw.
विद्युज्जिह्वा मरुतो दन्ता रेवतीर्ग्रीवाः कृत्तिका स्कन्धा घर्मो वहः
Lightning is the tongue, the Maruts are the teeth, the Revatī stars are the necks, the Kṛttikās the shoulders, heat the back.
विश्वं वायुः स्वर्गो लोकः कृष्णद्रं विधरणी निवेष्यः
The all-pervading wind is the body, the heavenly world, the black spot is the support, the foundation.
श्येनः क्रोडोऽन्तरिक्षं पाजस्यं बृहस्पतिः ककुद्बृहतीः कीकसाः
The falcon is the hump, the intermediate space is the marrow, Bṛhaspati is the withers, the Bṛhatī and Kīkasā meters are the dewlap.
देवानां पत्नीः पृष्टय उपसदः पर्शवः
The wives of the gods are the backs, the Upasads are the sides, the ribs.
मित्रश्च वरुणश्चांसौ त्वष्टा चार्यमा च दोषणी महादेवो बाहू
Mitra and Varuṇa are the shoulders, Tvaṣṭṛ and Aryaman as well, the Doṣaṇī are the arms, Mahādeva is the arms.
इन्द्राणी भसद्वायुः पुच्छं पवमानो बालाः
Indrani is the ash, Vayu the tail, Pavamana the calves.
ब्रह्म च क्षत्रं च श्रोणी बलमूरू
Brahman and Kshatra are the hips, strength the thighs.
धाता च सविता चाष्ठीवन्तौ जङ्घा गन्धर्वा अप्सरसः कुष्ठिका अदितिः शफाः
Dhata and Savita are the shanks, Gandharvas, Apsaras, Kushthikas, and Aditi are the hooves.
चेतो हृदयं यकृन् मेधा व्रतं पुरीतत्
Consciousness is the heart, the liver is intellect, vow is the chest.
क्षुत्कुक्षिरिरा वनिष्ठुः पर्वताः प्लाशयः
Hunger is the belly, Irā is the intestines, mountains are the ribs.
क्रोधो वृक्कौ मन्युराण्डौ प्रजा शेपः
Anger is the kidneys, wrath the testicles, offspring the penis.
नदी सूत्री वर्षस्य पतय स्तना स्तनयित्नुरूधः
Rivers are the veins, Varsha's lords are the breasts, thunder is the udder.
विश्वव्यचाश्चर्मौषधयो लोमानि नक्षत्राणि रूपम्
All-pervading are the skin, plants are the hairs, stars are the form.
देवजना गुदा मनुष्या आन्त्राण्यत्रा उदरम्
Divine beings are the rectum, humans the intestines, here is the stomach.
रक्षांसि लोहितमितरजना ऊबध्यम्
Rakshasas are the blood, other beings the fat.
अभ्रं पीबो मज्जा निधनम्
Cloud is the marrow, drink is the end.
अग्निरासीन उत्थितोऽश्विना
Agni is seated, risen are the Ashvins.
इन्द्रः प्राङ्तिष्ठन् दक्षिणा तिष्ठन् यमः
Indra stands in the east, Dakshina stands in the south, Yama.
प्रत्यङ्तिष्ठन् धातोदङ्तिष्ठन्त्सविता
Pratyanga stands in the west, Dhata stands in the north, Savita.
तृणानि प्राप्तः सोमो राजा
Soma the king has attained the grasses.
मित्र ईक्षमाण आवृत्त आनन्दः
Mitra, observing, is turned, delight.
युज्यमानो वैश्वदेवो युक्तः प्रजापतिर्विमुक्तः सर्वम्
Being yoked, Vaishvadeva is harnessed, Prajapati is released, all.
एतद्वै विश्वरूपं सर्वरूपं गोरूपम्
This indeed is the universal form, the form of all, the form of the cow.
उपैनं विश्वरूपाः सर्वरूपाः पशवस्तिष्ठन्ति य एवं वेद
All-formed, of every form, the cattle approach him and stand by him—whoever knows thus.
शीर्षक्तिं शीर्षामयं कर्णशूलं विलोहितम् । सर्वं शीर्षन्यं ते रोगं बहिर्निर्मन्त्रयामहे
Head-ache, head-disease, ear-pain, and bloodiness—every disease of your head, we drive out from you.
