Strike down the one who rises up, the wild-haired ascetic, the yawning, the one who touches impurities, who approaches the fig tree, the tufted bird, or the crested fowl; strike the vessel with your foot, with your heel, as a cow kicks the milk-pail.
Whoever harms or destroys your embryo, whether already formed or just conceived, may the tawny, fierce-bowed one strike him with a blow to the heart.
Those who kill the unborn, who lurk around the birthing woman, who seize the portions of women, the tawny Gandharvas—may the wind drive them away like a cloud.
Let what is scattered be held together, let what is beneficial not fall away; may the fierce twin healers guard your embryo.

Those who eat raw flesh, and those who devour human meat, those hairy ones who consume embryos—we drive them away from here.
Those who creep forth from the sun, as a daughter-in-law from her father-in-law's house—may the noose and the tawny one pierce their hearts.
Tawny one, protect the one being born; do not turn the woman into a man; do not crush embryos from the egg—repel these Kimīdins.
Let barrenness, the evil of spring, and the curse of the ancestor not seize us; as one removes a garland from a tree, so release us from what is not dear.
Those that are brown, those that are bright, the red ones and the speckled ones, the black and dark herbs—we call upon them all.
May these herbs, whose father is the sky, whose mother is the earth, whose root is the ocean, protect this man from disease sent by the gods.
The waters, the foremost, the divine herbs—may they drive disease from your limbs, from every part of you.

I call upon the spreading, the restraining, the single-spiked, the expanding herbs; the radiant, the thorny, the many-branched—I summon you, mighty universal plants, givers of life to men.
With your strength, your enduring power, and your might, O herbs, release this man from disease; now I prepare the remedy.
I call upon the living, unfailing, life-giving herbs, the ever-rising, the flowering, the honey-sweet, to grant safety to this man.
Let the wise, earth-born ones come here at my words, so that we may deliver this man from misfortune.
The food of Agni, the embryo of the waters, those that grow again and again—may the firm, thousand-named healing herbs be brought here.
Let the herbs, whose essence is water, with downward-pointing stalks and sharp points, drive away misfortune.
Let the fierce herbs, which release poisons, which destroy strength and food, and which remove sorcery, be set free here.
May the praised and powerful plants, which have been invoked, protect the cattle, horses, men, and animals in this village.
Sweet is the root, sweet the tip, sweet the middle of these plants; sweet are their leaves, sweet their flowers; born of honey, they are the food of immortality, yielding ghee and nourishment for the cow and the bull.
As many and as great herbs as are on this earth, may those thousand-leaved ones release me from death and from harm.
The tiger-stone of the plants, protecting from curses, ward off all diseases and destroy all dangers far from us.

As the roar of a lion or the crackling of fire scatters, so may the disease of cattle and men be driven away by the plants, and may the flow of illness go to the river.
The herbs, released from the universal fire, spreading over the earth, whose king is the Lord of the Forest, have grown.
May those Angirasa herbs, which grow on mountains and on level ground, be rich in milk, auspicious, and bring well-being to our hearts.
