May that god Savitar bring us abundant immortality; both praises are well-sung for the good path.
Press Soma for Indra, O priests, and hasten; let the praiser’s word be heard, and grant me favor.
To him the drops enter, like birds into a tree, full of sweetness; O wide-seeing one, drive away the hostilities and the demons.
Press Soma for the drinker of Soma, for Indra the wielder of the bolt; young, victorious, lord, he is much praised.
May Indra, Pūṣan, and Aditi protect us; may the Maruts protect; may the seven rivers, the offspring of the waters, protect us; may Viṣṇu and the sky also protect us.
May Heaven and Earth protect us for prosperity; may the stone protect, may Soma protect us from harm; may the gracious goddess Sarasvatī protect us, may Agni and his auspicious guardians protect us.
May the divine Aśvins, lords of beauty, protect us; may Dawn and Night also grant us wide space. O child of the Waters, O supporter, O Tvaṣṭṛ, increase our life for all attainment.
Tvaṣṭṛ, grant me divine speech; Parjanya and Bṛhaspati too. May Aditi, with sons and brothers, protect us; may the mighty one save us from the hard to cross.
Aṃśa, Bhaga, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, Aditi, and the Maruts—may they protect us. May the hatred of the hostile one depart; O supporter, drive away all enmity.
With wisdom, may the Aśvins guide us; may they grant us wide space, unimpeded. O Heaven and Earth, drive away the evil one far from us.
Lead this one upward, O Agni, with ghee offered. Endow him with radiance, make him abundant in offspring.
O Indra, make him foremost among his kin, lord among his companions. Unite him with wealth and nourishment; lead him to long life and old age.
For whom we make the oblation at home, O Agni, you increase him. For him, Soma speaks forth, and Bṛhaspati as well.
O Bṛhaspati, whoever, not a god, opposes us—strike down all of him for my sacrificing worshipper.
O Soma, whoever speaks ill of us, or curses us—strike his mouth with the thunderbolt; let him, crushed, depart.
Whoever attacks us, O Soma, whether a close or distant foe—remove his strength, as the vast sky does with its might.
By the path by which Aditi, Soma, and Mitra, free from guile, go—by that favor, come to us.
By which, O Soma, you strike down the Asuras and defeat them—by that, speak in our favor.
By which you gods have chosen the strength of the Asuras—by that, grant us protection.
As the creeper embraces the tree all around, so embrace me; as women desiring me, as my mind does not depart from me.
As the eagle, flying, strikes its wings upon the earth, so I strike your mind; as women desiring me, as my mind does not depart from me.
As these heavens and earths, and the sun, swiftly encompass, so I encompass your mind; as women desiring me, as my mind does not depart from me.
May her body desire me, may her feet desire me, may her eyes, may her thighs desire me. May the hair of the passionate one wither for longing for me.
I make you dwell in my thoughts at dusk, in my heart at night; so that, O desiring one, you may come to my intention, my mind.
Those whose navel is the place of rising, whose heart is the seat of union—may the cows, mothers of ghee, bring that together for me.
To the earth for hearing, to the plants, to Agni, to the lord—svāhā.
To the breath for the midspace, to the ages, to Vāyu, to the lord—svāhā.
To the sky for sight, to the stars, to Sūrya, to the lord—svāhā.
On the śamī and aśvattha trees is placed the puṃsuvana rite; that is indeed the knowledge of the son, that we place among women.
In the man, the seed arises; it is then poured into the woman. That is indeed the knowledge of the son, so Prajāpati declared.
