The city of the gods, immortal, golden, which the first god pierced at the beginning—to him I offer ten eastward salutations; may he approve, for I have pierced the triple protection.
May Aryaman, Pūṣan, and Bṛhaspati come to you with favor; by the name of the one born today, you are thus favored by them.
With the seasons and their proper times, for long life and radiance, with the energy of the year, with that we strengthen you.
Smeared with ghee, mingled with honey, firm in the earth, unshaken, able to carry, breaking rivals and making them low—do not rise, but remain for great good fortune.
Harnessed at the front, carry forth, O Jātavedas; O Agni, know what is being done here. You are the healer, the maker of remedies; through you may we gain cattle, horses, and people.
So do this, O Agni Jātavedas, united with all the gods; whoever has harmed us, attacked or injured us, may he circle outside the boundary.
Just as he circles outside the boundary, so do this, O Agni Jātavedas, united with all the gods.
Pierce his eyes, pierce his heart, bind his tongue, break his teeth; O youngest Agni, destroy that flesh-eating demon who has attacked us.
Whatever of his has been taken, carried off, or stolen, whatever has been eaten by demons, O Agni, knowing, bring that back; let us restore flesh to the body.
Whether raw, well-cooked, spotted, or overcooked, whatever flesh-eating demon has devoured me, may those demons depart with their offspring and kin; let this one be free from disease.
Whether in milk, in curds, in undercooked food, in grain, whatever flesh-eating demon has devoured me, may those demons depart with their offspring and kin; let this one be free from disease.
Whether in water, in drink, while lying in the bed of flesh-eating spirits, whatever flesh-eating demon has devoured me, may those demons depart with their offspring and kin; let this one be free from disease.
Whether by day or by night, while lying in the bed of flesh-eating spirits, whatever flesh-eating demon has devoured me, may those demons depart with their offspring and kin; let this one be free from disease.
O Agni, devourer of flesh, destroy the blood-drinking demon, the mind-stealer, O Jātavedas. May Indra, the champion, strike him with his bolt; may Soma, the bold, cut off his head.
From of old, O Agni, you destroy the sorcerers; let not the demons conquer you in battles. Burn up the flesh-eaters together with their roots; let not the divine weapon miss you.
Gather together, O Jātavedas, whatever has been taken or carried away; let his limbs grow, let them swell like the shoots of Soma.
Like the shoots of Soma, O Jātavedas, let him swell; O Agni, make him free from disease, pure, and let him live.
These are your offerings, O Agni, for the binding of demons; accept them, take them up, O Jātavedas.
O Agni, with your flames accept these offerings; let him who seeks to seize this flesh abandon his form as a flesh-eater.
Return, return from afar, return from a distance; remain here, do not go, do not follow the forefathers; I bind your breath firmly for you.

Whatever your mother, your father, your kin, or your brother has committed against you, accept this remedy before your eyes; I make you free from old age.
Come here, O man, with your whole mind; do not go to Yama’s messenger, but come to the abode of the living.
Uncalled, return again, wise one, by the path of rising up; ascend, step forth, journey among the living.
Do not fear, you will not die; I make you free from old age. I have spoken away the disease from your limbs, your limb-fever.
The breaking of the limbs, the limb-fever, and the heart-illness that is in you—may the disease fly away like a hawk, far beyond by my words.
The seers who are awake and those who awaken others, whether in sleep or in wakefulness—these two are the guardians of your breath, watching by day and night.
Sitting near this fire, may the sun rise for you here; rise up from the deep darkness of death, from the blackness of confusion.
