O Ashvins, wherever you may be—whether you journey alongside mighty Indra in a single chariot, dwell in the company of Vāyu, or stand among the radiant Ādityas and the skillful Ṛbhus, even when you stride in the vast steps of Viṣṇu—the devotee’s heart reaches out to you. Today, I call upon you, Ashvins, seeking strength and aid in all our endeavors. May your finest help, the very best you offer in battle for Turvaṇa, become ours. Come now, Ashvins, for these offerings are prepared especially for you. The Soma has been pressed for Turvaśa, and among the Kaṇvas you delight in these libations. Whatever healing remedy—be it close at hand or far away—that you, O Nāsatyas, possess, let that protection be granted to us. With your awareness, shield us in joy, and offer your covering care even to the tender calf. With heartfelt devotion, I have spoken forth the divine speech, the goddess herself, in your honor, Ashvins. Through her, thought and bounty are spread among mortals. O Dawn, arise! Ashvins, arise! Gracious ones, awaken with the coming of the sacrifice, that we may partake in your great glory and exhilaration. When you, Dawn, set forth with your shining light, you glow together with the Sun. Then, the chariot of the Ashvins follows the path to the gathering of men. When the pressed Soma flows like nourishing milk, and the hymns are sung in your praise, then, Ashvins, the worshippers move forward in devotion. All this is for glory, for fame, for heroism, for shelter, for skill, and for wisdom. Whenever you, Ashvins, dwell in the heart of the father with your thoughts, or are invoked with kindly hymns, your presence is felt. Today, we call upon your broad and swift chariot, Ashvins—the meeting place of the cow, the vehicle that carries Sūryā, radiant, long-lived, generous, and bountiful among the gods. You, divine sons of heaven, are resplendent, delighting in your powers. Swift horses join your forms, drawing your chariot and bearing your treasures. Who today will offer you, Ashvins, the chosen oblation for help? Who will honor you with the pressed Soma and songs, remembering the ancient truth and giving you reverence as you are praised? With your golden, many-formed chariot, O Nāsatyas, come to this sacrifice. Drink the sweet Soma, and bestow your treasure upon the one who arranges the offering. Come to us from heaven and earth in your well-fashioned golden chariot. Let no one else restrain you, O divine ones, when the ancient center is offered to you. Grant us, wondrous Ashvins, abundant wealth and many heroes in both realms. When your praises are sung, people gather together, seeking your favor and blessing. Here, when your thoughts are united, may your good favor and reward come to us. Grant prosperity to the worshipper, Ashvins, and fulfill the cherished wish through your grace. May the herbs, the sky, and the waters be sweet for us; may the atmosphere be gentle; may the lord of the field be propitious; and may we move forward unharmed along this path. This is your work, Ashvins—bulls of heaven, lords of earth and sky. I praise you a thousandfold, and honor those who strive for the cow. Come together and drink, overcoming all hostility, and let your blessings flow upon us.
