May we be blessed to witness a hundred autumns, to live through a hundred autumns, to awaken each morning for a hundred autumns, and to thrive for a hundred autumns. Let us be nourished, let us prosper, let us flourish for a hundred autumns—and may we, by the grace of the divine, live even beyond a hundred autumns. With the wisdom of both the unbound and the bound, let us open the hidden doorway by subtle means. Drawing forth the knowledge with both, we then proceed to perform the sacred rites. Let life continue—may I live, may I be alive and fulfill my destined span. Let me live on, let my days be prolonged, may my life reach its fullness. Let us live together, let us share our lives, may I live out the full measure of my years. Let my life be long, let me be alive, may I dwell in the fullness of my allotted time. May Indra live, may the Sun live, may the gods live, and may I too live, fulfilling the full span of my life. May the Giver of boons, the Mother of the Veda, whom I praise, inspire the purified among the twice-born. May she grant me life, breath, offspring, cattle, fame, wealth, and the brilliance of sacred knowledge. Having bestowed these blessings, may she ascend to the world of Brahman. From the vessel from which we drew forth the Veda, into that very vessel let us return it. The sacrifice has been accomplished by the power of sacred knowledge—may the gods not be offended by our austerity. Indra, we invoke you, the mighty Bull, at the pressing of Soma; protect us, O Lord, with the sweetness of the Soma drink. In your dwelling, where the Maruts—the mighty ones of the vast sky—abide, there is true protection and guardianship. For the one who eats ox-flesh, for the one who eats cow-flesh, and for the wise marked by Soma, let us offer praises to Agni. Let the Maruts drink the Soma from the cup, in the Suktubh meter, with radiance, according to the season. Let Agni, from the Agnidh’s cup, in the Suktubh meter, radiant and timely, drink the Soma. Let Indra, the priest, from the Brahman’s cup, in the Suktubh meter, with brilliance, partake of the Soma. Let the god Dravinoda, from the cup of the cup-bearer, in the Suktubh meter, with radiance, according to the season, drink the Soma. Come, Indra, with eager mind; drink this Soma, for your seat of sacred grass is prepared. Let your two tawny steeds, yoked by our prayers, bring you here, Indra; listen to our hymns. With our prayers we call to you, Indra, drinker of Soma, together with those who offer Soma, as the Soma is pressed. Come to us, O Soma-drinker, to our well-praised offering; drink the sweet Soma, O beautiful-haired one. I pour it for you into your belly; let it flow through your limbs; seize the honeyed essence with your tongue. May the sweet, well-filtered, honeyed Soma be pleasing to your body; may Soma bring peace to your heart. This Soma, O wise one, is pressed for you, surrounded as a mother by her children; let it flow forth to you, Indra. With a mighty neck, a strong belly, and powerful arms, Indra sits at the Soma, slaying his foes. Indra, go forth in front; as lord of all strength, slayer of enemies, destroy those who oppose us. May your goad be long, with which you grant wealth to the one who offers and presses Soma. This purified Soma, O Indra, is placed upon the sacred grass; come, hasten here, and drink of it. This Soma is pressed for your delight, for your praise, for the battle; O Ākhaṇḍala, you are invoked. He whose horned bull, offspring, and Kuṇḍapāyya are yours—upon him you have set your mind. Indra, we call you, the bull, at the pressing of Soma; drink the sweetness of the Soma juice. Indra, delight in the pressed Soma, knower of resolve, much-praised; drink, be exhilarated, be satisfied. Indra, lead our inspired sacrifice with all the gods; cross over, praised one, lord of the people. Indra, these pressed Somas go forth to you, true lord; the bright drops, O Indra, are offered for your dwelling. Thus, with longing, devotion, and praise, the sages and worshipers call upon the gods, seeking long life, prosperity, and the blessings of sacred knowledge, offering Soma and sacrifice in reverence and trust.
