O Darbha grass, radiant and fierce, you are invoked as the destroyer of enmity and the champion of victory. Just as the heated gharma scorches, so may you burn away my foes, O precious jewel, breaking the hearts of rivals as Indra once shattered the might of his adversaries. Again and again, you are called upon to break the resolve of those who stand against me—let their courage falter and their heads bow, just as the skin rises from the earth. With your sacred power, O darbha, break my rivals, those who challenge me in battle, those who are hard to defeat, and all my enemies. Not only break them, but cut through their strength, sever their bonds, slice their unity, and crush their resistance. Let your potency pierce their hearts, strike them down, grind them to dust, and obstruct their every move. Destroy their designs, churn their intentions, compress their power, dry up their vigor, and burn away their malice. Strike, O darbha, with all your might, so that none who oppose me may stand. O darbha, you are ancient and armored, bearing the shields of age and death. With your protective might, make me armored and strike down my rivals. You possess a hundred blades of protection and a thousand powers; all the gods have entrusted you to support the passage of time. You are hailed as the armor of the gods, the Lord of Prayer, the very shield of Indra, protector of all realms. You are more than a plant—you are the destroyer of rivals, the burner of enmity, the jewel that increases sovereignty. I make you the drink of my body, so that your strength becomes mine. When the ocean roared with storm and lightning, a golden drop was born, and from it sprang you, O darbha grass, sacred and powerful. Turning now to the audumbara jewel, I invoke its abundance. May the Creator grant me the increase of all cattle in my pen, for the audumbara is the bull among jewels, the bringer of prosperity. May the household fire, lord of cattle, favor us, and may the audumbara release its abundance upon us. Let the fruitful and nourishing one dwell in my house; by the brilliance of audumbara, may the Creator bestow abundance. From all beings, two-footed and four-footed, I gather the fullness of their foods and juices, bearing the audumbara jewel. I have gathered the wealth of cattle and grain; may Brihaspati and Savitar grant me the milk of cows and the essence of plants. May I become the lord of cattle, and may the lord of abundance establish prosperity within me. Let the audumbara jewel bring me wealth, offspring, strength, and splendor, inspired by Indra. Let this divine jewel, destroyer of rivals, bring us riches and fullness of food, the increase of cows, and all forms of prosperity. As you, O audumbara tree, were born with abundance, may Sarasvati grant me wealth and growth. May Sarasvati and Sinivali bring me milk, grain, and the blessings of the audumbara jewel. You are the bull among jewels, lord of riches, in whom the lord of abundance was born; all prizes and treasures reside in you, O audumbara. May you conquer for us, driving away misfortune, enmity, and hunger. As the leader of the village, rising as chief and anointed, sprinkle me with splendor. You are vigor and wealth—let both dwell in me. Unite me with abundance, make me lord of my house, and place prosperity among us. For the increase of wealth, I release you, O audumbara jewel, heroic and bound for the hero. May it grant us sweet alliances and all-heroic riches. Once more, I bind the hundred-jointed, thousand-leaved, elevated darbha grass—fierce among herbs—for the sake of long life. Its hairs are uncut, its leaves unbroken, and it grants protection. Its tuft is in heaven, its roots established on earth, and with you, O thousand-jointed one, we increase the span of our lives. You have overstepped three in heaven and three on earth; with your power, I subdue the tongues and words of the ill-willed, ensuring peace, abundance, and victory in my life.
