May the celestial star, even when struck by a meteor, bring us tranquility. Let all spells and sorceries, and even the hidden pegs buried in the earth or the meteors that trouble the regions, bring us only peace. May the gentle influence of the lunar planets and the sun, even as Rāhu eclipses them, be peaceful for us. May Death, the smoky-bannered, bring us peace; may the fierce and brilliant Rudras grant us peace. May the hosts of Rudras, Vasus, Ādityas, and the sacred Fires be peaceful toward us. Let the great seers and all the gods bestow their peace. May Bṛhaspati, the wise, bring us calm and well-being. Through the grace of Brahman, Prajāpati, Dhātṛ, the worlds, the Vedas, the seven seers, and the sacred fires, may my rite for welfare be fulfilled. Let Indra and Brahman offer their protection; may all the gods, each and every one, shield us. All the forms of peace that exist in the world, known to the seven seers—may every one of them be ours. Let us have peace; let us be free from fear. Peace to the earth, to the sky, to the heavens, to the waters, to the plants, to the trees. May all the gods and every god bring us peace—peace in all its forms. Whatever here is terrible, cruel, or evil—let it be pacified, let it become auspicious, let all be peace for us. May Indra and Agni look upon us with favor and lend us their aid. May Indra and Varuṇa, who accept our offerings, bring us peace. Let Indra and Soma grant us prosperity, and Indra and Pūṣan bestow us with strength. May Bhaga grant us peace; may our hymns, our praise, and even Puraṃdhi and our riches be sources of peace. Let the praise of truth and the practice of good discipline bring us peace. May Aryaman, who is born many times, bring us peace. May Dhātṛ and the Sustainer bring us peace. Let the wide one, Svadhā, be gracious. May the vast heavens and earth, the great mountains, and the favor of the gods be with us. Let Agni, radiant and ever-present, bring us peace. May Mitra, Varuṇa, and the Aśvins bestow peace. May the good deeds of the righteous be for us, and let the wind blow peace toward us. May Heaven and Earth, invoked since ancient times, bring us peace. Let the sky be auspicious for our sight. May the plants and forests be gracious to us, and may the victorious lord of the region grant us peace. May Indra, along with the Vasus, be gracious; may Varuṇa, with the Ādityas, favor us; may Rudra, with his hosts and the waters, bring us peace; and may Tvaṣṭṛ, with the goddesses, hear our prayers. May Soma, as Brahman, be gracious; may the pressing stones, the sacrifices, and the friends of the gods all bring us peace. Let the altar itself bestow peace. May the Sun, vast in vision, rise for our peace; may the four directions bring us peace; may the steadfast mountains and flowing rivers and waters grant us tranquility. Let Aditi, with her vows, bring us peace. May the radiant Maruts, Viṣṇu, Pūṣan, the purifier, and Vāyu all bring us peace. May Savitṛ, the protector, grant us peace; may the shining dawns bring us peace; may Parjanya bring peace to our children; and may the lord of the field, the beneficent one, grant us peace. May the lords of truth bring us peace. May swift horses and cows be peaceful for us. Let the skillful Ribhus grant us peace, and may our ancestors be pleased with our offerings. May all the gods and deities bring us peace; may Sarasvati, together with wisdom, be with us. Let the healers and givers of gifts bring us peace, as well as the divine, earthly, and watery beings. May Aja Ekapad, Ahirbudhnya, and the ocean bring us peace. May the offspring of the waters be favorable, and may Prishni, the divine protector, grant us peace. Let the Adityas, Rudras, and Vasus accept this newly performed prayer. May the divine and earthly beings, those born of cows and those worthy of sacrifice, listen to us. Let those who are priests of the gods, worthy of sacrifice and immortal knowers of truth, the worshipful ones of Manu, grant us glory today and always protect us with blessings. Let it be so, O Mitra and Varuṇa, let it be so, O Agni; may this blessing be ours. May we attain depth and firm foundation; homage to the great heaven, the seat of dwelling. Dawn, the best of sisters, leads the path to brightness. By her favor, may we receive wealth from the gods and rejoice, strong with a hundred powers and blessed with good sons. Indra’s arms, mighty and splendid, are as powerful as great bulls, able to carry us across all obstacles. Harness them at the first call to action, as they conquered enemies and attained the heavenly world. Indra, swift and fierce as a bull, terrifying and thunderous, shakes the peoples and leads a hundred armies to victory. With tumult and unblinking might, with victorious and unyielding force, that Indra conquers—stand together with him in battle, O men, for he holds the arrow in his hand. With those who bear arrows and quivers, with the obedient, Indra leads the host in battle. He is the winner of contests, the drinker of Soma, strong-armed and fierce-bowed, standing with those who resist. Wise in strength and steadfast, supremely heroic, powerful and enduring, Indra stands upon our chariot, rich in cattle, as the victorious subduer of enemies. Rejoice in this hero, this fierce Indra, O friends; join together with him. He is victorious in the village, in cattle, in the race, his arms like thunderbolts, triumphant and mighty. Assaulting the enclosures with force, Indra, the hundred-wrathful, advances, unconquered in battle and destroyer of hosts. May our army be protected by him. O Brihaspati, circle around with your chariot, slaying demons and driving away foes. Break our enemies, crush our adversaries, and purify our people. Let Indra be our leader, Brihaspati the right hand, sacrifice the front, Soma the advance. Among the divine hosts that conquer, let the Maruts go in the midst. Let the victorious cry of the gods arise—Indra the mighty, Varuna the king, the Adityas, the fierce Maruts, the great-minded, the movers of the worlds. May Indra be on our banners in battle; may our arrows be victorious. Let our heroes be the best, and may the gods protect us in our offerings. May this conclusion be auspicious; may Heaven and Earth be gracious to me. May all directions be free from enmity toward me; we do not hate you—may there be safety for us. O Indra, from whatever we fear, from that make us fearless. O Maghavan, drive away our foes; scatter the haters and destroy the assailants. We call upon Indra, the generous, for favor; may we gain prosperity among both bipeds and quadrupeds. May no hostile army overpower us; O Indra, destroy the plots of the malicious, both near and far. Indra is our protector, the mighty slayer of Vṛtra. May he guard us as we move, in our midst, behind us, and before us. Lead us, O wise one, to a broad space; grant us the radiant, fearless, and auspicious world. O powerful Indra, may we dwell under the shelter of your mighty, enduring arms. May the midspace make us fearless, may both Heaven and Earth grant us fearlessness. May there be safety behind, before, above, and below for us.
