Let us draw from the vast sky, from the broad earth, and from the space between them, all that is free from enmity, sharing it among ourselves in peace. May we be guided with clarity and wisdom, our vision sharp and our judgment sound. For the sake of the descendant, for the son of that one, let every evil dream be wiped away, cleansed from his path. Whatever harm I may have approached—whether it was committed in the evening, or in the night that has passed, whether it was done while awake or asleep, by day or by night—whatever I encounter daily, from all this may I protect him; may I show him mercy and compassion. If harm comes, let it be struck away; let there be delight in his safety, and let even his back be guarded. May ill-wishers not survive; may the breath of those who threaten him depart. Victory is ours! Bursting forth is ours! Death, energy, sacred knowledge, heaven, sacrifice, cattle, progeny, and heroes—all these are ours. With these blessings, let us set apart that one, that descendant, that son of that one. May he not escape the bonds of destruction. Again, victory is ours, bursting forth is ours, and all good things—may he not be freed from the bonds of misfortune, nor from the bonds of non-prosperity, nor from the bonds of defeat. Let us set him apart so he does not escape the bonds of the offspring of the gods, nor the bonds of Brihaspati, nor Prajapati, nor the sages, nor the descendants of the sages. May he remain bound by the ties of the Angirases, by the bonds of the Angiras descendants, by the Atharvans, and their descendants. May he not be released from the bonds of the forest lords, nor the forest beings, nor the seasons, nor the seasonal periods, nor the months, nor the half-months, nor even the bonds of day and night, or the joined day. Let him not escape the bonds of heaven and earth, nor those of Indra and Agni, nor Mitra and Varuna, nor King Varuna himself. In all these, victory is ours, bursting forth is ours, prosperity, brilliance, sacred knowledge, heaven, sacrifice, cattle, offspring, and heroes—all these are ours. Thus, we affirm our victory and bursting forth. May all battles and hostilities be driven far from us. Thus spoke Agni, thus spoke Soma, and Pūṣan: “May you not fall from the world of the righteous.” We have reached heaven, we have reached the light; we have come together in the radiance of the sun. May our sacrifice bring wealth; may we win abundance and become prosperous. Place wealth within us. And now, O friend, let me choose friendship with you. Even having crossed many wide oceans, may the wise one establish the descendant of the father, shining and steadfast, upon the earth as a bridge for all.
